From Razor to Zeiss V4
Coming from a Razor to this V4, 1-4 I was a little apprehensive. I can't find near as many reviews or even mentions of this optic as I did on the Vortex before getting a Razor. I won't go into a side by side of which is better and why because they are both amazing optics. It all boiled down to weight for me. My Razor weighed a ton and this V4 is pretty light and compact. IMHO it is equal on all other aspects to the Razor except price and weight, where it excels (well and it is a 1-4 not 1-6). I have zero regrets moving to this optic and would not hesitate to get another one if/when the need arises.

Great quality scope
Amazing scope for this price range especially. Funny when people leave the 1 star review for the turret and screw breaking it’s pretty obvious you over torqued it. Just saying. This is a quality optic I would highly recommend.

Poor quality
During zeroing top turret become loose. Screw on top turret broke in half. I emailed Zeiss costumer service no reply. I was hoping Zeiss will reply back dUE to warranty and have good costumer serv. Will just buy Leupold, vortex or nikon next time

Disappointing Optics
The construction, red dot, turrets, appearance and 30 mm tube are all what I expected from a Zeiss branded optic at this price point, excellent. The disappointment comes when looking through the scope and panning either side of the reticle. Distortion is easily apparent. Looking at the bottom of the turret base one learns one has bought a product of the Philippines, not Germany. Great products are produced in the Phillipines, this just isn't one of them. I have never seen such distortion in a Leupold at any price point, from the Rifleman series to VX-5. Next time I'll stick to Leupold, still made exclusively in the USA..

A Great New Scope from Zeiss
I have really enjoyed this scope. The clarity and light transmission is unparalleled for this price range. The ZQAR Reticle is great. The 2nd focal plane positioning makes sure that the reticle stays consistent no matter the magnification setting. It also has a build in bullet drop compensator that, with the correct rounds allows for pretty close approximation of impact out to 600 meters. Also, the ZQAR reticle offers illumination. But its illumination is not obnoxious. What I mean is that the illumination is almost understated. It is illuminated only to the point of making sure the shooter can properly position the reticle, without the illuminated reticle overpowering the eye and blocking out the intended target.Similarly, the construction of the scope is great. The scope is light and rather compact. The elevation and windage adjustments are tactically crisp and exact with no “mushiness“ between clicks at all. One of the nicest features is the zero-stop, or what Zeiss calls, the Ballistic Stop. Setting the ‘stop’ is very easy and is metal on metal. There are no plastic pieces that can be stressed, or broken, by an minor over exertion of a quick elevation change. There’s only one thing I would like addressed, and that is the Torx screw that holds the elevation turret down. If one is not careful, the screw could break.Otherwise, this is a fantastic scope for a great price.

Made in Japan
Amazing scope. Although I was not aware that it was made in Japan.

Good scope
Although it came like it was packed right on the battlefield, incl grass, soil and smashed newspaper in the shipping box (instead of bubbles) it wont let me give it less than five stars. The product itself was in good condition. It is all made of duraluminium, there is no plastic parts in this scope as somebody mentioned before. It is made in Japan, which means top quality for that price. I personally find the glass more clear than similar product from Vortex and Swarovski Z5i 2.4-12x50.
