Great card; Windows 10 still has a mind of its own
I bought this based on the other reviews as I also have a Focusrite Firewire audio interface that stopped working with the upgrade to Windows 10. It worked perfectly under Windows 7 with an NEC chipset firewire card, but sadly I could not get it to work under Windows 10 whatever combination of drivers I found. Focusrite website suggest that for Windows 10 you should use a card with Texas Instruments XIO2213B chipset, and this card does have that. So, a quick search and with Prime delivery, it was quickly received. As with any PCI/e card, it's easy and quick to fit if you're confident inside a PC. I use a Focusrite Liquid Saffire 56 and this now works correctly with this card. However, there are still some peculiarities that I have to remember. For example, the Focusrite has to be switched on before powering the computer; the drivers don't notice if I turn it on afterwards. Maybe it's just me, but it still feels a little delicate to change settings; but that could be the burn from a week of trying to get Windows 10 to work with the old card.

Works with Windows 10 & Focusrite Saffire Pro 40
So you may have come across this for the same reason I did. Trying to find a firewire card that will work with Win 10 and Focusrite Saffire Pro 40. Well this does. It's got that chipset you want and you don't have to faff around with drivers when you plug it in. Mine worked as soon as I started the PC. Zero issues. If you are connecting to the Pro40 be aware that this card has FW800 connectors and the SP40 has FW400. So you need a cable with the correct connectors on each end.

Works on Hackintosh
A decent little card, one star off for being a bit pricey, but five stars overall. I have a couple of the SYBA cards on other builds, which are also very good, but I liked the fact that this has an internal header as that allowed me to connect an old Presonus Firestudio mobile which I have in one of my 5.25" optical drive bays. You have to de-case it to get it in, but I just got a cheap 5.25" drawer to serve as a rack tray - further bodging and dremelling required - but I'm very happy to have one less thing cluttering up my desk. More practically this card was recognised immediately by MacOS Mojave and also Manjaro and Pop OS Linux distros - I haven't' booted into windows 10 since I installed it, but I've no reason to think it wouldn't work perfectly well, Windows gods allowing. Lastly if you're reading this because of the hackintosh title I can't recommend strongly enough that you take the time to do an OpenCore install with vanilla MacOS - lots of good walkthroughs on YT. I've been using Macs since '91 and my experience with OpenCore has been very reliable, which to my mind is the whole goal of using MacOS on non Apple hardware - at least since they stopped making a desktop that makes any sense to buy.

Working with windows 10 and focusrite saffire pro 14
I purchased This to connect my focusrite saffire pro 14 to my windows 10 machine (with gigabyte motherboard) and it worked flawlessly. I Plugged it into the mother board, installed the focusrite driver, connected the focusrite and everything worked straight away. No need for any installation drivers on the pcie card - it just drops straight in. Highly recommended.

Works well but needs internal header
Two good Firewire outlets on the back, pity that the one inside is the same style, it would have more useful if this was a 9 pin header.

I used this for a Focusrite Saffire pro 14
It worked, it has the correct TI chipset to use the Focusrite Saffire on windows 7 and older versions of windows 10. No messing around with legacy firewire drivers, windows has the drivers for this caked into it.

kinda worked.
i used this to use my saffire pro 40 with a win 10 pc build. it worked, after some fiddly physical installation. however the connection wasn't 100% reliable and also WIN 10 is also still not the most stable with firewire, worked kinda ok for using with DAW's but using it along casual gaming and voice chats got felt tedious.. ended up swapping the saffire for a usb interface.

Works with LinuxCNC
I tried this card because I read in the reviews that someone with Linux used it. Ny first attempt was on a Asus motherboard but it was not plug and play. Running the command lspci -v shows the card but the port is disabled. Looking around in the interwebs I found out that the drivers were missing and causing the problems. I downloaded the drivers from asixs homepage but would did not install properly. I dug out an old dvd player to get the drivers from the cd. Same problem. Switching to Linux mint did not help. Reading further and I found that the card should be plug and play and the drivers are not needed but it is disabled either in software or hardware. Trying a lot of trix in Linux and digging through UEFI "BIOS" for something to activate the pci card, I gave up and tried another motherboard. Great success! It worked immediately. My adress turned out to be 0xe010 as you can see in the lspci -v picture. Your adress will be something else. The card very rapidly changed from zero stars to five. My Asus PC will be put in the corner of shame.

Buen adaptador
