🥾 🌲 🪨 Incredibly comfortable & go through mud like a tank
I hike in the Cleveland MetroPark’s, Brecksville Reservation particularly. Some of the trails can be treacherous on shoes as the mud gets very thick, the trails have many rocks and you have to cross several creek’s because they are in the middle of the trail. Most of my shoes last around 3 months with daily 3-4 mile hikes and I have to add all kinds of inserts for comfort and even still I had discomfort. I’ve tried all the brands North face ect ectThese are the only hiking shoes I’ve had in years that I don’t need inserts and seem to be holding. They grip the mud incredibly well and drain fast when you have to walk through deep water and are not too heavy. I don’t slip on the trail stones like I do with other brands going down hill, They keep your feet warm in the cold and cool in the heat. If you’re into advanced, harsh trail hiking these are for you 🥾 🌲 🪨

Very stable footing.
We bought several pairs of these when our hikes got more extreme than sneakers could handle, amd with rare exception are now my go to shoes. I also own the waterproof version of this in a different color and this breathes much better due to the vents on the side that allow the shoe to breathe, and take in water if not careful. Took a long hike after they were broken in, and no problems whatsoever. Make sure the tongue gussets are pushed up or you will feel some pain at the top of the foot. I suggest new insoles, as the originals are not what they used to be and I wish more companies would charge an extra few dollars and provide a decent insole, but every company seems to be doing the same thing unfortunately. Overall a great shoe for all but the most extreme hiker or climber and a good value.

Quality product
I was on the fence about buying Merrell shoes. I’ve had plenty of Keen and a pair of Oboz. The reviews for this product had a lot of people claiming their shoes did not last. So far these have been on par of not better than the Keens and Oboz. They’ve work great and still have lots of miles on them. I believe they’re a better value for the money than my previous shoes.

This is the only shoe that can handle my walking lod.
My dog and I walk quite a lot every day. We average 30.4 miles/week says Strava. A pair of Merrils will last about a year for me with that walking load.Which doesn't sound like much, but I tried a pair of Sketchers. They lasted 3 months. A cheap ass air of Nikes lasted almost 4 weeks. The arch support on these shoes is ok, but not great. I'm on my 3rd pair and I swap out the insole for one with better support. Doing so mostly got rid of the planar fasciitis in my left foot.

Nice hiking shoe
I hike in my local Oregon state park hills about 5 miles 5 days a week. Loose condition trail, some rocky, this time of year some mud and wet conditions in general. This shoe works well for all of what I have thrown at it so far. Note I have not tried this trail yet in dry Summer like conditions, so time will tell about traction in that condition. But so far it's been great and comfortable with no break in required. Not the updated MOAB version 3 with what they say is an improved tread design, but this was less cost and works fine for me. Traction has been good in all conditions tried and no wet feet.

Great shoe.
I own a pair of the Moab mid hiking boots in size 12. I ordered the Moab low-top in size 11.5. Oddly enough, they feel the same. These are well-built shoes and I expect years of use.

Escape from the rebellion
The time is midnight, the rebellion has begun. It is not the rebellion for which you had hoped. The anarchists, frustrated at their hoarded supplies forever going to waste, have veiled their intent as struggle against an non-existent hegemony and have begun liberating the populace from enslavement to all they owned, by taking all they own and occasionally their lives. Now the rebels are on your street, at the witching hour, and you must flee. You pull on your trusty Merells and off you go, across the backyard, over the fence, and toward the woods. You are sure-footed and even the dewy grass will not trip you up. It had better not because even the mindless anarchist rebels will appreciate and then covet your devine foot-holsters. They shall not catch you though, because bought these Merrell Men's Low Rise Hiking Shoes which fit well, are supportive and offer substantial grip. If only the liners were a little nicer, but that's not what to think of now, you're almost away.

Comfortable walking shoe - go large though!
I have had these shoes before (the GoreTex version), and they are reasonable value but not waterproof even with treatment so don't expect them to keep your feet dry.I have bought 1/2 size too big as they are not the same size my normal footwear (like many walking shoes/boots).

Strong Summer Hiking shoe. Great Sole
Wanted for hill/mountain trail walking, in Summer. Sole and tread (Vibram) is great. Tough looking shoe with a reinforced rib projecting from the heel towards the toe - offers confidence in it's durability perhaps? Leans towards Ventilation - Maybe at the expense of water-resistance? We shall see. I'm not worried - You know where you are with a Merrell..Ease of ordering, Info, Updates & Service - Superb
