Ordered this safe on 27th September 2019 before I actually needed it, so when it finally arrived, I left it unopened and as originally packaged until last week (end of February 2020).BIG MISTAKE.On unpacking the safe, I initially found that, contrary to how it was sold, it did NOT include fixings OR batteries and the door was open. The fixing holes on both the base AND back are tiny (about 5 mm diameter) so in order to be able to use large fixings, I drilled the base holes out to 10 mm diameter, easily done through the thin metal, like a hot knife through butter!!Having fixed the safe in situ and inserted batteries I had subsequently purchased, I discovered that absolutely nothing worked. The electronic display remained dead, refusing to spark into life and I then discovered that the SINGLE key provided did not operate the locking rods either. IT WAS COMPLETELY USELESS AS A SAFE AS IT COULD NOT BE LOCKED SHUT.Owing to the fact that I had left it packaged up for so long, together with the fact that I had drilled the holes bigger, I now find myself probably unable to return this product. Interestingly, I have since bought an ‘identical’ model safe from a UK source which, although first appearances suggests they are the same, they are clearly not. This new safe was supplied with two keys, sensible instructions for use, fixings and batteries and is of far superior quality. It was also over £50 cheaper!! My advice to anyone contemplating buying this safe from panzhihuashiBoyd Austen is DON’T. It is slightly bigger, has no ‘ChubbSafe’ on the door and is generally of a lower quality to the second safe I bought, suggesting to me an expensive, inferior copy of a genuine ChubbSafe. You can buy better, cheaper elsewhere. I only gave this review a 1 star rating as it wouldn’t allow for 0 stars.
