The Call of Paradise

Absolutely Stunning
Majda Gama delivers a beautifully haunting bouquet of poetry that evokes all the senses and draws out the reader’s yearning for their own personal “paradise.” She reminds us of the temptation, sorrow, and wonder of wanting something, but never being able to have it in its entirety. My favorite line is from Brood X, 2021 - “...the light we carry is alive in the eyes of everything looking back at us.” This profound line hits on something I think society experiences now in a state of connected disconnectedness. We could all use a little bit more awareness and connection with those around us, with nature, and with ourselves.

VITAMIN FOR THE SOUL!!!
I highly recommend purchasing Majda Gama's book of poetry. The first page it fell open to left me moved, tearfully pondering it’s meaning (and my response to it) for days. While the 40 page work flows with friendly accessibility—and impressively captivating elegance—I’d recommend luxuriating over each poem one a day, like a vitamin for the soul.

An ethereal and vivid collection
I don’t recall ever being so captivated by a collection of poems. The author doesn’t merely paint a picture of her life experiences, she submerges you into a vision of her soul in such a way that ranges from whimsical to heartbreaking, joyful to melancholy. And she takes you on this journey with such an air of earnestness that you feel as though you are a part of it. A truly worth while read, and reread!

SMOOTH STELLAR POETRY
This poetry chapbook doesn't disappoint. Majda is a wordsmith and her beautiful language and images lift her to art. My favorite poem in this chapbook is IN THE HALL OF THE MOUNTAIN KING. A poem about her father who had diamonds in his pocket at the end of the poem. Like the diamonds in her father's pocket these poems are precious gems. BRAVA!
