Holtzman's Gorilla Survival Silverfox M390 Steel Folding Pocket Knife with G10 Handle - Perfect for Everyday Carry and Outdoor Use

I’m a seasoned knife collector, and decided to buy this knife. I have nothing against “Made In China” knives, however their biggest problem is their heat treat which results in premium steels like M390 being heat treated to a lower HRC resulting in a softer steel with lower edge retention.This knife package is nice, but usually the more you get, the less is spent on the knife. I could do without the sharpening stone (for example) as I sharpen all of my knives on a Worksharp. I re-sharpened the knife at 17 degrees, and it took a beautiful edge and didn’t feel too soft. I also tested the knife by whacking the spine hard against a wooden chair and the knife did not experience “lock slip” (an occurrence where the lock disengages on a locked knife). I tested this three times and left very noticeable dents in the wood and the knife remained perfectly locked. The knife is also drop shut smooth and deploys beautifully. I like the dual satin/stonewash finish on the knife.Honestly for $200 you get a great deal. A great knife with Ti scales, M390 with a seemingly good heat treat, and a beautiful wooden box with everything you could want/need. My only complaint is the knife’s satin finish is a bit uneven, but I don’t really care about that.

This knife is an incredible piece of quality materials and craftsmanship. Extremely sharp, extremely light for its size, and butter smoth action. Compared to other knifes with similar specifications, this is a great value. The case, polishing cloth, and honing stone are also quality items. The wooden box display also makes for nice gift presentation, or just to keep it in. If you're on the fence, pull the trigger you won't be disappointed.

I purchased this even though a bit of the research was confusing. In multiple descriptions they identify different blade steel types. Some list M390 while others show D2. While D2 steel marginal OK, used mostly in cheap chain store >$20 knives, it's no M390 particles metallurgy super steel. Having the knife in my hand I can verify M390 steel.Second the description has the blade length a 3.74" inches, which would be the largest folding knife in own, but when I held it I realized it's 3.74" to the PIVOT, the actual blade length is about 3.1". This knife is a lot smaller than I expected.Lastly there is confusion between the "Silver Fox" and "Silverback" from this company in reviews and unboxing videos.Overall, this a sold and functional knife, I'd have preferred some type texturing to the titanium scales, but no noticeable issues. With compression lock this is really not a fidget knife, but I knew that when buying.I'm giving the knife a 4 with all the items leading to areas if confusion, and the knife size description resulting in a comparatively smaller knife to expectations.

Really happy to purchase this knife. Love the combination of premium materials, titanium scales and the M390 blade. Love the action on the deployment. My only gripe is that I would prefer a button lock at this price point. Frame lock is smooth, but not my preference.

Awesome pocket knife. Very pretty to look at. A bit Bigger than i expected. Got it for my husband and he likes it and that's all that matters.
