The Complete Matthew Henry's Commentary on the Whole Bible (One-touch Navigation)

Henry's commentary on the whole Bible remains a classic, although some of the language is now of course a little dated. But definitely a help when examining Bible passages, eg for a sermon or study group, after one has firstly examined one's own thoughts on the text.

I love this commentary. I would recommend it to anyone wanting help to understand the word of God

The commentary itself is wonderful. You can look up the text online if you want to judge for yourself before you buy the book.The book is of beautiful quality. The hardcover is very tough and the paper isn't too thin. There are however two things to consider: 1) It is VERY large and heavy so you can't easily take it with you and 2) the letters are very small so if you're eyesight isn't great you will have trouble reading it. I have perfect eyesight and only use it at home so for me this is not an issue.

I got the whole set (six individual volumes) for under £30, including postage in VERY GOOD condition. I am sure postage alone would have been expensive. They arrived the NEXT DAY! Henry continues to be regarded as the standard commentary from a conservative / evangelical perspective. A great single volume work which is sound but also accessible for the general reader.

I am still being awed by this spiritual man's knowledge and insight into God's Word and ways. I like it because Matthew Henry makes the bible so alive and real to you. Also he takes each book and the people in the book speak to each one of God's children on how to live in everyday life for Jesus.I highly rate this commentary and recommend that every child of God should have one I give it 5star++++++++++ all the way. Get it child of God you need it!

Brilliant insight into the Word of God, what a gift this man had, a tremendous understanding of God and His ways and of His Word. it's a must for every student of the Bible. The only thing about this copy is that the font (the printing) is so small, maybe you'd be better buying the six volumes addition, it costs more but well worth the money. If you do not mind the small print, then buy it.

More wisdom one one page than much other commentaries . True emotion raw in depth truth and complex yet simple dive in divine revelation! Brilliant work unedited and complete

I really wanted this book, however, the print is just too small and 3 print columns per page. Sadly, I had to return it.

Book is good but very small letters....if u study 10 minutes u we will get headache....

It is hard for me to give a definitive answer since I have not read it from cover to cover; the reason being that this Commentary and many others such, Andrew Gabriel Roth's Aramaic New Testament; The Artscroll English TANACH - the Jewish Bible; the Aramaic Bible by George Lamsa; the Complete Jewish Bible (CJB) by David Stern; and other sources are for my research and study of the Holy Scriptures! I have given it Four stars since from my general understanding most of this Commentary, is more in line with the teaching of the Old & New Covenants (Testaments) which other Christian (mostly modern) commentaries and teachings seem to misinterpret. The best interpretations would be from the original languages: Hebrew, Aramaic, etc."For ADONAI gives Wisdom; from HIS Mouth comes Knowledge and Understanding!" Prov.2:6 (CJB)How else but by research and study which is of great importance in understanding the (True) Word of G-d!Blessings!
