Explores the many ways birds build nests
With lyrical, rhyming text and beautiful illustrations, this lovely book shows the many ways that birds build nests. It explores construction methods, materials, and locations, some seemingly improbable—like a nest made of spit. This book will encourage kids to learn more about nesting birds. It would be a terrific book to read during nesting season, especially if a child has the good fortune to see a nest.

Easy to read to my three year old preschool class!
Fun story and great illustrations! My students enjoyed learning about the different nests birds created. Several students called me out when I didn't mention the name of the bird on one of the pages! Worked very well as part of unit on nests during the Letter N week.

Great but simple explanation of nest types and birds.
This is a great teaching book for 3yrs and up. I read this book on Google classroom for our preschoolers over covid school closure. Before reading the book aloud, I talked about and showed many different types of nests and bird figures that I had prepared, and finished with reading the book. On one page is simple reading for child to hear or read. On opposite page is additional info, if you choose to explain further. Photos are large and there is a wide variety of types of nests. It was a hit!

A Treasure of a Book
After reading this book to a Pre-K Library class, I went and bought it for myself. Fun, educational, beautiful illustrations and interesting side notes about the various nests birds build.

Great Little Book For Little Bird Lovers
Great little book that goes over the different kinds of nests a mama bird makes for her chicks. Love that is has a very simple explanation on one side, and than more details on the other which allows parents to choose the information their children would understand. Highly recommend for any budding naturalists, or just anyone in general who wants their kids to have a better understanding of the natural world.

Awesome but I wish It had a glossary and index too!
A great science storybook and research book. It would be even better with a glossary and index. I love the sidebars with information it's just too bad a young reader won't have the extra benefit of an index for doing research projects independently. A fabulous book that could have had a bigger market for home schooling and libraries. I love it! We need more books like this one. My daughter's kindergarten is going to groove off this!
