Can I trust what I can't check?
I'm a suspicious type in these days of Chinese current ratings and crimped joints, so I would have had the back off this 6 way strip to check the integrity of the internal wiring and connections. This was not possible because every screw head holding the back onto the device had been ground down so there was nothing on which to gain any purchase.I don't advocate that every phantom fiddler should cross-examine electrical equipment like I do - it's better to leave it to the professionals and after a lifetime in the business, I'm one of those who knows what he's doing. The inability to conduct an integrity check on this device means it will be consigned to only low current duty. I will not trust it to take, say, a 3kW load and don't intend testing it, either. On the other hand, it was fitted with a removable plug which, on examination, was correctly wired and screws tightened, although the earth lead had been compressed due to poor routing within the plug. This was re-wired correctly.I also bought a lower priced Pifco extension for low current work and was surprised to find the 6-way distribution unit to be identical with this model, although in this case the screw heads had not been ground down but were "safety" screws. The Pifco was fitted with a moulded 13A plug, which I don't trust as I've seen too many melted ones in my time. It was easily replaced with a reliable plug.If anyone chooses to take a heavy load from one of the sockets, at least do so from the socket nearest the cable entry point and do not shorten the cable by bunching and tying it as heat generated within the cable, if bunched, could lead to its melting.I guess the difference in price between the erstwhile identical devices must be the charge for grinding off the screw heads. Subsequently, I bought a good quality adapter locally, the wiring of which would take a full load in any socket position. Made in England LOL!

Dangerous fault.
Bought three of these in July 2014. Needing to plug extra devices noticed that the third thing plugged in caused sparks. Had an electrician check it and he confirmed that all three devices were arcing. Can't believe that other people have had the same problem and this 6-gang is still on sale. Positively dangerous.

Sturdy and Good Value with the essential surge cut out
I bought this for my computer, monitor, fax machine, printer, broadband router, etc. etc. I am sure you know what I mean. I used to have two blocks of four but now I have one block of six sockets that does a much neater job and at a very good price. Having a surge cut out is essential as I have in the past been a victim of a nearby lightning strike that knocked out my computer. That’s why as a precaution I always unplug during thunder storms.

No Drama
I admit some of the reviews had me worried, but this extension lead is fine. I tested all 6 sockets and they work ok. There are no sparks or anything like that. I use it for my computer desk so I have 5 devices plugged into it with a combined peak usage of 600W measured from the wall. Much less than the maximum capacity of the wall socket/extension lead which i believe is around 3000w.I would recommend this product.

Great value but could be improved
They are very cheap compared to others online. The issue that I have is the distancing between the plugs... I can't get consecutite smart plugs on there, which is understandable but in some cases, I can't get normal plugs beside each other either, which is frustrating.

Sparks will fly...
I'm hoping people do read the low star ratings as well as the high... as A LOT of people have reported, this creates worrying blue/white arcs when anything is plugged into it (all three items I plugged in did this). It may be cheap, but it should be SAFE. Not entirely convinced this will protect computer equipment from surges if it's arcing / flashing like that...

Simple & Safe
With only two sockets on opposite side of room to PC, TV, Digi Box etc., this extension with 5 metre lead, is perfect for the job and has added bonus of surge protection which really is a must for sensitive electronics such as laptops or phone charges. The lead has fitted neatly around edge of room from wall-socket and the adaptor socket section lying flat and out of sight where it's needed. Arrived within 24 hours free delivery with Amazon Prime. Great product and fab service.

Does what it says it is and at a good price - but long delivery
I needed a long extension plug and found this at a good price. It doesnt have any 'on/off' switches on it, just a power on light. There are mounting holes behind the plug face which is a bonus. The fit/finish around the light is quite poor (loose, rattles), but this is a cheap extension lead. Other 5m ones were more expensive.I am not sure if this is a reflection of the company, but it took a very long time for the product to be dispatched and delivered. So much so that i thought it may have been delivered to my neighbours by accident.Again i am not sure if this is related to the company or delivery couriers, but if i needed something urgently i would not order from this company. But if a wait can be tolerated, the prices are low.
