Q: what is the wavelength (nm) and frequency (hz)?

The IR Deep Treatment head has Infrared light(800nm - 1000nm) and penetrates to a depth of about 30 - 40mm, untilizing 940 nm LEDs.The ST Surface Treatment head: Visible light, at wavelengths from 470nm to 700nm. The LED Diode array includes 4 - yellow 490nm, 8 - blue 470nm, 12 green 520nm, and 16 - red 650nm diodes to provice the widest spectrum of shallow skin treatment benefits.Hope this helps.

Q: Do you or the dog need protective glasses when using this device?

No one does not. Though they do suggest to not aim the light towards eyes. But, I have not had any problems with this device. And I am careful when using it on my cat not to directly aim it by her eyes. Unlike, when my cat goes for laser treatments, where she does need to wear protective goggles as do those administering treatments. A side note, I find we have gone far less for laser treatments since we have started using LumaSoothe Light Therapy. :)

Q: Is this safe to use on humans too?

The beauty of Light Therapy is that it is a safe alternative treatment. However, the LumaSoothe is not rated for use on humans, and probably wouldn't be effective. So the answer is two fold. Yes it's safe to use on humans, but the results you're looking for won't necessarily happen. There are many tools rated for use in humans that would give you what you're looking for. However, you might see or feel results, they're most likely due to the placebo effect; but it certainly won't hurt you. Hope this helps.
