Nicely crafted great for any stage of playing.
This is a nicely crafted 6 in and 7 in bongos. The finish is smooth and I found no splinters or anything warped on them. They sound really nice after you get them tuned up with the tuning wrench that comes with them. The heads/skins are good quality, so don't be timid about tightening them up when tuning, there made to stretch to get the right tone that you are looking for. But it's always best to just start off hand tightening first and then do a quarter turn all the way around the bongo meeting turn each lug a quarter turn until you get the tone that you're looking for. Again the skins/heads are made to stretch I mean certainly you don't want to over stretch them but if you just keep it the quarter turn with the wrench you're going to be just fine and I would do that on your your high and your low drum.I was actually surprised at how well they tuned up and staying in tune as well.I like these bongos I like the look and finish off the them, the sound is really good and they stay in tune longer than some of the more expensive ones I have played in the past.I would definitely recommend them for a beginner but honestly also for any stage of playing you might be even a pro for that matter. It's a nice set they've got good tone they stay in tune for a good length of time and you also get a gig bag with them which is also nice that way if you're taking him out to play somewhere else let's chances that I'm getting nicked and scratched or something spilled on them with the gig bag. Overall I really do like this set bongo drums and again I would I would recommend them especially if you're a beginner really good set to learn on.

Fun for a beginner!
I ordered the BAHAMUT Bongo Drum Set, 6"+7" Wooden Bongos for Adults Beginners, Ideal Percussion for Education and Practice, Comes with Tuning Wrench & Waterproof Bag. I will disclose. I didn't know anything about bongos before I ordered these, and I simply just want to learn to play the bongo. Lol. The set comes all ready to go in a nice waterproof bag with a wrench that you use to tune it. I looked up videos online and followed some instructions and heard what their drums sounded like while I tried to tune mine. It's not perfect, but it's pretty close. They are not as loud as I thought they would be, but that's good if you live in a place where you share walls or spaces with people so they're not so loud. There are different techniques on how you hold your hand or fingers out, and it's obviously going to take practice as well as knowing what your bongos are supposed to sound like. All the people I watched online said to use the wrench and turn each one about one quarter turn at a time so keep checking after you turn all of them.. They also were saying that it's normal for it to start cracking a little bit like it's going to break, but that made me nervous. Lol. Overall, my rookie experience has me a little intimidated but these are fun and also good for children. If they don't hold up, I'll come back and update, thank you.

great bongos for beginner
This set is all you need to get started. The bongos, a carrying case and strap, and an adjustment tool to tighten the heads. The bongos smelled strongly upon unpackaging, but that has dissipated with time. The case and strap are nice for transporting your bongos without damaging them with knicks to the finish or dents. And you will want that, as these are quite beautiful. The finish is gorgeous and so far, has held, with no cracking. The adjustment (silver) is bright and shiny. And the heads are clearly clean and new. The tonality is easily adjusted and holds your desired setting well. This is a really nice set at a great price.

Extremely fun drum kit!
When I was a kid, I remember having a night with my mom and dad and the kids we called Groovin' night! During those nights we would turn all the lights out, light candles, incense and each person would have an instrument like bongos, claves, and maracas. We would then listen to 70s music and augment the music with our instruments. They were by no means professional grade instruments, but they weren't toys either. They were perfect for for the purpose. So when I saw these come up for review, I jumped at the chance and I'm glad I did. This set is definitely no toy! It is built extremely well. It comes with a nice black carrying case. It also comes with a special tool to tune the drums as well. They are built very solid and sound great!Give them a try. I'm sure you'll love them too.

Bongo Time!!
I love these bongo drums!! I am a beginner and I did need to watch a video on-line to even know how to play these!! The bigger drum goes on your right side and is more of a low note while the smaller drum on your left is a higher note. When you use different fingers you can get different sounds!!These are well crafted and they look high end! I love that it comes in a bag and has a strap that I can wear around me to hold them in place when I play. The sound quality, according to the video, is perfect! These are my new favorite toy! I can't believe the "baba boom" you get for your buck!! Great value; highly recommend!!

I'm a beginner and these seem lovely!
I was very happy with them out of the package. The bag included is very solid and will last! The drums are beautiful and the goatskin head is pleasant to touch. I am very much a novice, so I don't feel comfortable rating the sound quality. They seem pleasing to my ears! They are easy to strike and sound lovely. My hands are pretty weak and I can still tap out lovely sounds on it. Watching a few tutorials on YouTube I was able to tune and get some rhythms going. There is a slight dent in the edge of the wood under the goatskin head; I'm not sure if that affects the sound or not. I don't know what is an acceptable flaw for bongos. I took photos of the top and underside to show the underlying knot in the wood.We mostly got these for playing a family drum circle for fun. They feel very nice for that purpose!

nice drums, great sound
I have wanted bongo drums for a long time as I love tapping along to music. These are awesome and I'm so glad I ordered them. These are great to play right out of the package. A little bit of tuning by watching a video helped them sound amazing. The top of these are nicely made and very sturdy. The wood is beautiful. These also came with an awesome carry bag and a little wrench to help tune them.
