Performance
Bag-a-nut LLC customer service was and is outstanding. They offer very good advice as all equipment has special instructions for use. My advice is to pull it with a lightweight small vehicle 5 mph or under. The cleaner your area of work is the better. The leveler the work area is the better. All in all I believe the Bag-A-Nut is a great buy.

It works.
The device works really good however it only picks up about 60% of the acorns. It's still better than trying to pick them up by hand I would buy it again

Just okay
It picks about half the acorns up. I suppose it's better than raking but not super impressed all in all. Kinda pricey for what it is.

This thing works!
I have about 3 acres of sweet gum trees that are on the part of our land I maintain. If you have sweet gum balls, you know how much of a problem that can be. Sweet Gum balls are nasty and dangerous to people and pets. Previously, I used a lawn sweeper, Trac-Vac, and leaf rake to try to clean them up. None worked satisfactorily. I wanted to give the 7001 model a try but hedged at the cost. It came to me as a gift from one of our grown children. IT IS AWESOME! My only complaint right now is that the baskets fill too fast - but that is not a problem with the machine. It indicates how many sweet gum balls I have to clean up. There is a lot of plastic in the machine. I am especially concerned about the durability of the fingers that eject the balls. So far, so good. At least replacement parts are available. I will update my review after more use and add some pictures. This is a real-time and labor-saver!EDIT ADDED MARCH 17,2024: I just noticed I am not listed as a "Verified Purchase". The 7001 was bought on a different Prime account by one of our grown children as a gift to keep me from hurting myself again cleaning up the sweet gum balls. So far, I have picked up millions of them with the 7001. The trailer in pic 1 is one of the hundreds dumped. A few more tips and comments: The longer you let them stay on the ground, the harder they will be to pick up. I had to use a dethatcher (pic 3, red arrow) to pop those that had stuck in the ground and grass up so they could be picked up (nasty little spiney critters). The lawn sweeper (yellow arrow) had to be used to clean up the thach. 4th pic is one of the cleaned-up areas with w/sweet gum trees. Pics 5 and 6 show how the baskets fill. You will not pick up all the balls in one pass. Once the part with the fingers touching the ground fills up, you must keep going until the fingers clear the section. Five or six passes are not unusual for thick ground coverage. You will note that in the last pic, I removed the handle next to the roller. The space there kept jamming with balls with the handle in place. My other issue is that the most outer fingers have nothing to keep them from bending or breaking (see arrow pointing to a bent finger). A solid end disk is needed there. I will make an aluminum end disk for my unit soon. Remember, my reviews are for sweet gum balls ONLY. Not acorns or nuts. This is a great invention!
