You can definitely feel it
This thing made me skeptical about buying it but I found out it really does work and I haven’t seen any improvements yet but I just started using it.

The two silicone pieces look and feel identical; only one wrist strap is annoying
These work pretty well for finger antagonist exercises, which is important for rock climbers like me. I get a good pump on the back of my hands and top of my forearms even on the lowest settings. Feels much more comfortable than the DIY one I built out of rubber bands and a metal ring for my thumb. For reference I have medium-large man hands and the sizing is pretty good for range of motion, although using the tighter settings makes the range of motion much more limited.Unfortunately it seems that both the gray and black silicone pieces are the same, so they are NOT different resistances. Not sure if there's anything I'm missing here but they feel the same when pulling on them too. If they included a 2nd wrist strap, this wouldn't have been a problem since then I could use both at the same time as I like to do on walks, but with only one wrist strap it basically makes the 2nd silicone piece useless, at least until the first one starts to tear like other reviewers have experienced.Despite the flaws, I like these so 4/5 stars. If they start to tear prematurely, I'll update and drop some stars.

The Velcro on the wrist strap is too small/too weak
Buy a different one. The wrist strap is garbage. There is a tiny little square of velcro where it should be a lot bigger due to the tension. Mine never held up , I had to hold the strap in place with my other hand. It will not hold up because it’s poorly designed. You can find the same thing with a better wrist strap . Dont waste your money on this

No Instructions; Might Be For More Experienced Users
Both my husband and I tried this item and compared our experiences. He recently had a surgical procedure done on his hand and is looking to restore his strength. I just want stronger hands.First, there are no instructions. I had to go back to the item listing and look at the pictures to figure out how to use it. Second, there is only one wrist strap so you can only exercise one hand at a time.Additionally, the "rings' you place on your fingers are all the same size which means, unless all your fingers have the same circumference, your pinky is not going to get a workout. Lastly, after some use, it caused my hand some mild pain. Perhaps it's just sore from the workout but my intuition says this is not for me. My husband thinks they work "fine" but he's had more experience with other hand exercises and techniques as learned from his physical therapist. I would use with discretion.

Works GREAT!!
Having been unfortunate enough to have had multiple arm and hand surgeries I'm familiar with this type of device. While not exactly the same it's still the same underlying principle. While the "medical" version is a bit more robust, this does the exact same thing. I see it's simplistic design as a positive, as replacements (if they're ever needed) could easily be adapted from other uses. For example, the S hook that connects the elastic to the wrist device. There are a plethora of S hooks available at the local hardware store. While the original weights/settings may be compromised a bit, the overall function of the device would be maintained.I tried the different "weights" listed on the elastic and they did feel different, so I can only assume that they're fairly accurate. While I know that most exercise regimes for strengthening don't focus on extension, I feel they should. Again, full gain of function after surgery focuses on both ranges of motion, contraction and extension. While not as critical for things like rock climbing, it is important. Please remember, that in order to work properly both sets of muscles need to operate properly and usually proportionally.I can see the point of other reviewers that part that secures the device on the wrist could become a pressure or pain point, I just put something in there to buffer it, a simple folded towel or rag. That eliminated any issues I encountered and the circumference of the wrist piece more than allowed for it.This will be a part of my exercise routine to maintain strength, tone, and flexibility for my hands.I 100% recommend it for those looking to maintain and strengthen their hand function.A+++++

Weird to use but works
I was curious on these when I first saw them. I have exercised my hands, wrists, forearms quite extensively over the years but this is a different method. Most methods involve the closing of the hand....not the opening. Do not overestimate your strength. It is a totally different feeling and workout. You will actually be shocked at your strength or lack thereof. There are no instructions included but it is 2024 and the internet is your friend and if you are getting these it is pretty evident how to use it.Overall, I do like them but the fit with the wrist strap could be improved for comfort.
