CatEye CALSORB Front and Rear Orb LED Bicycle Lightset SL-LD160

Recently I forgot to take my main lights with me on the bike, as it's summer. Came back late with no lights, so decided to look for a lightweight pair of spare lights I could carry just in case. Ideally, they would use replaceable batteries - happy when I found these, seemed to be exactly what I was looking for. It uses cheaply available batteries - 2x CR2035.However, there's a design fault. As it uses a pair of batteries, it's important that the first battery doesn't touch the metal casing (otherwise you're shorting the second battery!)With the front light I received, that's exactly what was happening. The design relies on the PCB lugs to prevent the first battery touching the metal casing - only it doesn't. The solution was to stick insulation tape around the inside of the housing, preventing the batteries contacting the sides. The back light was OK - but the margin is so tiny I decided to add the same insulation to both. If you don't have insulation tape, a sliver of plastic or paper would do the trick, about 20mm x 7mm is all that's needed.As CatEye is a Japanese company (though made in China) with a good reputation for design and quality, I was disappointed.However, decided to keep them, as they are quite cheap, do exactly what I want (after the fix) and work well as supplementary lights. As the batteries are replaceable, it's more environmentally friendly than the disposable type of "wrap-around" lights.

Very bright lights and design is good but the small 's' clip that attaches the light around the handlebar comes off and thus really easy too lose. I would recommend other lights - ones that don't have clips that detach.

Great lights, I use the front light on my helmet. Both lights have a strong lense so they give out a lot of light had mine for 6 weeks, batterys still running very well. Impressed

Very good to use along side main lights,I've got them on the wheel forks.

Ok but should not be opted for a main bike light, just as a secondary.
