Unique Use
I actually didn't get this for it's intended use... I drilled it, filed it and used it as a sweet looking muzzle break. It works quite well for that. I liked the look of it, it has a nice twist that looks really great.I will say the as a drill bit, this thing is incredibly sharp, and very hard. It took me quite awhile to file the end of it down some for my use. It has thick walls and seems very sturdy, I think it would take a lot of abuse and would keep it's cutting edge for quite some time before needing to be sharpened. If you're looking at this as a drill but or for other purposes I don't think you'd be unhappy with it. It's a nice piece that will come in handy regardless of the "kit" or tool box you put it on/in.

Drilled through 1/4" aluminum like a warm knife through butter
High quality annular cutter, I'm considering different approaches to making a kinetic sculpture and ordered this for accurate clean holes. But I wasn't paying attention and thought I had a 3/4" shank adapter. Nope.I brought my aluminum plate and the annular cutter to a local shop and they let me watch as a worker drilled 12 holes for me.I was surprised how easy it cut through the aluminum. Clean holes. Accurate. More impressive though was the shop workers comments. He really liked the performance, thought it was very sharp, and high quality compared to other cutters he's used.My apology to the seller for taking so long to finally use the cutter and be able to provide this review. So 5 stars from me, with minimal metal machining experience, and 5 stars from the machinist who helped me.

Good value, works well.
Much better value than some brands, for home and ranch use it has been working very well. Maybe in a production shop a better brand would give better performance. But I have major complaints.

Very good quality annular cutter.
Product Reviewed: XJX Annular Cutter, 7/8 Inch Diameter x 1 Inch Cutting Depth with 3/4 Inch Weldon Shank Magnetic Drill Bit HSS Steel for $26.00.TL;DR;Bench review of annular cutter.I can usually determine the quality of a cutter by examining the cutting edges and I broke out the macro lens so the quality of grind can be seen. I’d call the cutting edges good to very good on this particular cutter. The end faces are ground asymmetrically which I rarely see but I assume for a cutter of this diameter this helps with chatter. After some consternation I think this can be resharpened with care on the verticle portion of the cutting edge (i.e. parallel to the the axis of the cutter). For those not familiar with this style of cutter these can be used in a lathe, mill or drill press to drill otherwise difficult holes. They leave behind a slug of material in the core which is the limitation of the depth but lower overall cutting forces and make a pretty good quality hole.No real complaints the description matches the product. How I review:Reviews start with 5 stars and I subtract points.- 0 for value but I try to provide guidance-0.5 to -3 for product not matching description e.g. stainless steel is actually plated steel-0.5 to -3 for product missing badly on executionI select products carefully so low (1-3 scores) are rare but detailed comments and critiques almost always are in the review. Most of my reviews come out 4-5 range. If possible I dismantle or destroy items to examine inner workings.

get along lil dawgie
The media could not be loaded. Yippie Kai Yi Yay get along lil dawgie. This was my first annular cutter, and I have say, "I love me some annular cutter cutting." Annular cutters are awesome tools. Like I said this is my first, so I can't compare to other annular cutters - but I will say, all others aside, this one RoCkS! Beautifully ground and finished HSS (NiCe HiGhSpEedStEeL). I chucked her up put a piece 3/16" aluminum in the vise - set to about 1200Rpm, and made a 3/4" hole lickety SpLit. (see video). I zipped right through but I think I could have gone as fast as my big ugly self could go. There's no stopping this girl. Yeah, it was aluminum, but I didn't want to test on steel. I won't have any reservations using her at the proper rpm on mild steel, but she is HSS – think I'll keep her a way from AR and tool steel – just let her do what she's good at. I want to be friends with this one for a long time. I'm already looking at more XJX offerings.9 Stars for The XJX 3/4”x1” Annular CutterThanks for Reading - Have an Incredible LIfe!

Great gift for the handy man of the house!
I got this for my bf because he loves his tools, and I love learning about them through little things like this set. I wasn’t really aware of magnetic drills, but he had mentioned having one, and I asked if this set would fit. When he said yes I ordered it right away. Once it arrived it was the perfect excuse for him to give me a lesson in how a magnetic drill works. Now that I know the basics, I realize what a great set this is! It’s definitely on par with the more expensive sets, but the quality is equal if not better. My bf is really impressed and he said this will be his go to brand from now on, for its marksmanship, affordability and functionality. Very highly recommend! ❤️

Nice and sharp.
The media could not be loaded. These cutters come in a pretty decent plastic case and they look great. Nicely ground and very sharp. You will need an arbor specifically for annular cutters, which I did not realize when I ordered these. I assumed a regular 3/4" end mill holder would work but the set screw is too high to engage the flat on the cutter. Actually it kind of works with the smaller cutters because they can slide further up inside and engage the set screw. Best to just get the proper arbor. I tried a couple of the smaller cutters on a piece of 1/4" mild steel, set up in my bench top milling machine. Running at fairly low RPM (280) they cut pretty well. Too much cutting pressure would give me chatter every time so I had to use moderate pressure. Not sure if this was due to my setup, the RPM, or the tools themselves. They each made a nice, clean cut and ejected the chips well. The selection of sizes in this kit seems odd to me, but maybe there's a good reason for it. I would expect 5/8", 3/4", and 1" to be far more useful than 11/16", 13/16", and 1-1/16". Overall these seem like quality tools. Give them a try if you need cutters of this size.
