Persona 5 Tactica PS5 PEGI

Love persona since persona 4 golden on vita and 5 did not disappoint. So having the dance spin off / hack and slash and now this tactical rpg of P5 its great judt to be back with the characters .

Persona 5 Tactica is not a promising campaign tactics genre, the wonderful cast of Persona 5 are shined through in tiny moments but are fleeting moments at the same time. They have commendable voice acting, enticing skill tree management, resource hoarding but it falls short in the limited character variation which is shown through their own gimmicks.The world of Tactica is strongly written and a compelling tale of a politician who lives through the Phatnom Thieves fixing society, I only wish there was a stronger sense of exploration and more personality unique team attacks.

The idea was great, the execution not so much.The mechanics are all there, but they’re not pushed at all meaning everything becomes too easy and samey. Any level of tactics aren’t really required, your character selection is ultimately pointless -as there are no enemy elemental weaknesses, it’s only worth picking characters with high movement stats.It’s a shame as would have been great to have a reason to switch your team around regularly. The idea of sub-personas is fine, but the skills and inherited skills are so basic and useless, it just becomes about equipping the persona with the highest stats, which isn’t typically the case for a Persona game.The story is middling for 50% of the game, with the third of four chapters being the only worthwhile, then the fourth being essentially nothing but a boss rush. The story isn’t even really about the P5 cast at all, and the new characters are under-utilised.Not to say it’s a bad game, I completed it twice for the platinum which took 35 hours total. But it’s Definately babies first SRPG, and frustrating because it was nearly there- they just needed a bit more sauce.Certainly not on par with Strikers, or the extra royal content- or even the Persona Q games.
