First of all, be prepared to make a mess. You need space to put this beast together and they packed the box full of blown styrofoam that clings to EVERYTHING, and it will get everywhere. (See last picture for example)There are So. Many. Parts. I put it together myself but it would be much easier with a partner. Alone it took me over two hours.The instruction manual is all pictures, so pay close attention to each one or you will miss steps. Uber frustrating. Notice the pictures that show it right side up versus upside down. Assembly will be easier if you put it together as pictured. I didn’t realize the drop leaf was pictured assembled with it upside down—I made it happen right side up, but trust me when I say that it wasn’t easy.This thing is really solid overall, my only complaint is the backing on it is pretty thin piece board, probably 2-3 mm. Seems sturdy enough but a few strong kicks would probably punch through. (Not that anyone would do this on purpose..)You can adjust the hinges after mounting, so don’t be dismayed if the cabinet doors initially open/close rough. The manual will show you how to make small adjustments to get the alignment right.The drop leaf has robust hinges that are easy to engage to lower it back down. It locks into place automatically by raising it level with the top.I’m very pleased with it, and look forward to wheeling it out when I need extra counter space for baking or big meals. My kitchen is too small to keep it in there perpetually, so the drop leaf is excellent for storing it in my hallway.

I put this island together by myself in about 3 hours. Instructions were clear, and all the bits were labeled. I am notorious for putting things together wrong, and having to go back and disassemble to correct my mistakes - I only did that once on this build, and it was an easy fix. Finished piece looks really nice, feels sturdy, and is generally much higher quality than I would have expected for the price. I'm REALLY happy with it, and would recommend it.

At first I was very surprised at how many pieces there were to put together but by the time I opened everything, it would’ve been more work to put it all back into the box and return it then to put it together. Also, the packing foam was absolutely shredded and so there was packing foam everywhere. It took my teenage son and I about 4 1/2 hours to put it all together. It was tedious, but the instructions and the pictures were pretty straightforward, and the pieces all fit together well. There was a little frustration adjusting the two cupboard doors to fit just right, but we figured it out after some adjusting the screws on the hinges to make the doors fit better. It’s a little larger than I expected but it works really well, it’s sturdy and I really like it. It looks great, the only thing that I would say could be better is that on the back is just basically hard card board slide ins. The rest of the island is sturdy material though. It’s really handy in the kitchen, and takes a lot of pressure off of the kitchen counter Space. All in all I can say it was worth it, it works very well and looks great! I love that the back of the top counter board adjusts to be released down very easily and locks into place when pulled up. It saves a lot of time and frustration in regards to cooking and prepping space while preparing meals in the kitchen.

The directions were clear, pieces labeled and all accounted for, and predrilled holes lined up correctly. All in all the island went together fairly easy. It does take two people, as the island is larger would be difficult to move around by yourself. We were short four screws from the whole island. They were easily replaced. Over all I would recommend this product for easy of construction. We haven’t used it over time yet though.

The product appears to be aesthetically pleasing and serves its intended purpose. However, I have some concerns regarding the durability of the top material and the wheels. Only time will tell how well these components hold up to regular use.
