Folding Garden Knife. This Hawkbill Blade is Curved Making it Great for Hundreds of Uses. Not Just a Great Gift for a Gardener.

There are other knives with short curved blades, like a mushroom knife, at a lower price, but this one can be folded. I thought it makes a good pocket knife. Well..First day out of the package, I used it to harvest a "forest" full of fava beans. The knife was sharp and increased the yield by about 10 fold. Before my wife was using a garden pruning shear which she had to squeeze for each pod. Then the blades of the scissor/shear would stick and not run smooth. I became the designated harvester. I hold the pods with my left hand and with knife in my right hand pressing down and forward and the sharp blade easily pass through diagonally one or multiple bean pods. Both the angle/curve and the sharp blade made it a great harvest knife. Right there, I thought the purchase was well worth the price I paid.Now, I was impressed by the sturdy looking locking/folding mechanism. From the folded position, the blade can be easily pulled/swung open, and it would locks with a very assuring snap. It stays lock very securely unless a considerable force is applied to the recess part. This part stays under the palm and there is zero chance of accidental activation. I feel confident that that the blade would not fold during use. But.. because of the amount of force needed to unlock to fold the blade, my wife would not even try to fold the knife. She feel that if she does it incorrectly, she might lose her fingers.It is a nice looking and sturdy looking knife. I might not use it as a pocket knife, since it is slightly wider than I like. But it is still easier to carry than other cheap curved fixed blade harvest knives, since this knife can be folded. I believe I will be using this study little knife for a long time.

I'm one of those guys who feels you can never have too many knives. I wanted one I could use in my garden and front yard to cut the stems from larger plants. This knife works well for that purpose. Additionally, it is a good weight, feels good in your hand, and the locking mechanism works well without being overly stiff. My arthritic hands found this knife a pleasure to use. In addition to my garden it has migrated to my kitchen counter where I keep it for easy access so I can use it to open packages when they arrive. I love the shape and feel of this one. It is razor sharp, so be somewhat careful with it.

I only used this a few times. This knife came to me really sharp, and in great shape. I used it to cut broccoli in my garden. It did well. When I tried to cut it really low on the stock it was a very tough stock and it did not cut it well. But on the upper part it cut through like butter. It's a nice low cost knife.

This little Garden Knife is AWESOME!... I initially searched AMAZON for "linoleum knives" and this " Gardening Knife was in the line up. I chose it above others because it breaks down and locks to protect you and the blade that is extremely sharp ... It is perfect for cutting deep rooted weeds that are hard to remove and it really does the trick!... The locking/unlocking silver thumbnail is opposite the blade. This handsome item is compact, cost effective, safe to store and delivered as promised. So if you are looking for a "Garden Knife", I highly recommend this for your garden needs.

Beautiful wood handle. Extremely sharp blame. Handle carefully. A little tricky to close since you have to depress along side the handle to close the blade. Wish it came with a pouch. Great for slicing open bags of soil, opening boxes, etc. A quality product!

Really like this knife. I think it's a good quality knife that will last a long time. I would definitely recommend to friends. I will probably buy several and give them to family and friends. Perfect for gardening and picking fruit from trees without harming the tree. Comes sharp and feels good in your hand. A person could put whatever finish on the wood handles they prefer or just leave it like it is. It's just fine for me. I especially like the retainer ring that is attached to the handle. I like to put a lanyard on knives I take in the woods or even the garden. Very happy with the knife. I will be ordering more. Thank you!

This is a really nice knife. It has a great handle and it is nice and sharp.

Very sharp knife. A little bigger than I was expecting and the release mechanism is a little stiff so it requires a bit of strength to push down.
