I love that the quality is great and my dog loves it , but it very expensive. I have a 75lb dog and she does eat alot... i use it as a topper only but she doesn't get it everyday.

A little pricey but knowing that it is real and healthy food so worth it for my fur babies! I use it as a topper with their kibble and they love it!

After a lot of research, this food seemed the best option for my dog. I love the natural ingredients and the ease of dehydrated pieces instead of freezing/ refrigerating fresh.Unfortunately, my dog got sick on this food. We did the beef and salmon formula. He’s never had issues with either of those protein sources. We did a few days of adding in 1/4 cup Simple Food to his normal meal of 1 1/2 cup. Wanted to transition slowly. Day 3 and he started vomiting, had diarrhea, was lethargic, refused food and water. He is VERY food motivated and not picky so him not eating was worrisome.Took a trip to the emergency vet and based on elimination and tests, they think he’s allergic to the cranberries in the food. Cranberries are not inherently toxic to dogs but if they have too many, it can cause severe stomach upset, vomiting, and diarrhea. So, I think the product is good and I like now natural it is, but maybe cranberries aren’t the right choice or maybe your dog will be totally fine with the amount of them.

This was most likely the most difficult Review I have ever made! The food gets 5 stars. The packaging gets 1 star. I love the food and the quality! My dogs love the food! But honestly I do NOT love the packaging at all! The box that it comes in is absolutely unnecessary! The bags that the food comes in is a joke! There isn't a single bit of information on the bags, so when I toss the boxes, I need to write on the bags what the heck is IN the bags. That is where the information needs to be! NOT on the box which is most likely adding to the cost of the food!! The box needs to be eliminated from shipping. Put the necessary information on the bags like every freeze-dried company does, and stop shipping in those boxes; they're costing the buyer and have no purpose, what so ever in shipping.

Our family is committed to eating nutritious, natural (not processed) food. We have tried to include our pets in this approach to life. BUT what is good for a dog? After consulting a dog nutritionist a list of foods came. We tried several and I can tell you that all the Simple Food Project proteins (duck, bison etc) are a huge hit with our 12 year old mini poodle! I had to cajole him before to eat - "have your food, have your food". NOT anymore - Rico runs to his bowl, gobbles it up and has lots of energy. All his signs of indigestion are gone. And his Mom's worries are gone too because Simple Food Project is one of the more affordable brands! THANK you Simple Food Project. A++

I tried many different brands and I could write a book about Frozen Dry food. This product has a great recipe and good variations of flavor. My dog has a sensitive stomach and he is on prescription GI food. we bought this product to use as a topping to make his food more desirable. I realized that my dog is picky, he did not like the food much, and he absolutely did not like cranberries (not sure if any dogs like them) The other issue is that the food was pretty hard and I had to add a hot broth to make it softer. Among different brands, this is 3 stars. Maybe for some, other dogs will work better.

I started ordering from Amazon vs Simple Food Project. I went on their site to move my subscription date up and it just went haywire. I could not send a message. It gave phone number and it just said not working but gave another number. That number said the same. This was the 3rd time it happened.Now make sure I am talking about the Simple Food Project website not this vendore thru Amazon.Review for vendor so far 5 stars.

I purchased the sample pack to see if our girl would like it at this point we’ve only changed her food once because of availability problems and thank goodness she had no issues. She didn’t seem to mind the change. I figured I would get the sample to figure out which flavor she would like best. Well she voted and she didn’t like any of them. I made the pouches by adding a cup of boiling water then letting it cool down to room temperature (about 1/2 hour to 45 minutes) then added a cup of her regular dog food (ORIJEN grain free). She surprised both of us as she picked out her regular dry ORIJEN and spit the rest on the floor. I have never in my life seen a dog spit food on the floor to get what they want out of the bowl it was a huge mess and she never went back for the food she didn’t eat the first time. The second time I made it I used another pouch and added her food into the boiling water with the pouch at the same time. She wouldn’t touch any of it she sniffed the bowl and picked up some food spit it out and walked away she eats in the morning at 4am. She’s a pound pup who would eat whatever was there as fast as she could making herself sick. She the first fur baby we couldn’t do and all day grazing she would empty the bowl so we measure it out each morning to keep her from overeating. We have slowed her down so she no longer makes herself sick but we still have to watch how much she intakes. That’s why it’s so surprising that she wouldn’t eat the food at all. The equal mixed and rehydrated food I finally threw out and gave her her old food which she gobbled up. Thank you for offering the samples so I didn’t have to waste a whole lot of money. I give two stars for offering the sample size it would have been zero stars except they do sell the sample so you can see with out going full in. I would recommend buying the samples before investing in the full size.
