Percussion Plus PP1116 Waltons Mini Bodhran

This was a present for a friend, and has been much appreciated. I was happy to get what seems to be a really good quality musical instrument at this very good price. It makes a beautiful sound, is full size, and comes in a nice bag for travelling to sessions.

It's not Waltons (as stated in the item title). It's by Percussion Plus.It's 14 inches in diameter and has a 1/2 T-cross brace at the back.For the money it's a very nice Bodhran. With the extremely wet weather the sound has deepened.I am quite pleased with it.

Great tone, decent build; easy to manage; bag is a boon.Bone (tipper/cipin) is a bit of a dinosaur rib, could have done with being a bit smaller -- it is a mini bodhran afterall.Best to buy the bone separatley, in person, so it fits your hand an is weighted to your pivot points.

Wasn't expecting anything too grand for this price - but it is absolutely brilliant! Comes with a gig bag and a tipper. The quality of the product and sound it makes are absolutely first class. Would highly recommend this to any musician. Doesn't seem like a small bodhran at all. The size is quite substantial and perfectly adequate for playing in a pub - or anywhere else. You will be very pleasantly surprised.

This was bought to see if it would fit with our band's style. It was great, and I now use it and a larger tunable one for our gigs

I love this drum! It is not tuneable, but seems to have a nice tone that responds to hand position. It looks to be well made with a smooth finish and sturdy rim and cross bars. I didn’t appreciate how large it was going to be! I am 5’4” and I can’t imagine playing a larger drum. Great value for beginners. This is my first bodhran, although I studied music and play several wind instruments.

Perfect for any level of player. Authentic instrument, good quality and great value for money.

Solid, attractive, well made (in Ireland per Percussion Plus web page) 14 inch size is plenty big (& loud), with a satisfyingly resonant tone. T bar interior handle is solid and comfortable. Storage bag, with pocket for tipper, is a plus. Shipment received a week earlier than Amazon calculated, from UK to California, just in time for my absolute beginners online class.

We bought this as a birthday gift for someone who thought they might be interested in learning how to play the Bodhran, and it was a good choice! It did not look cheap at all, and was small enough to be able to be handled easily by the novice, but large enough to have some substance. Very nice instrument!

Arrived earlier than expected, well packaged. Beautiful! Great instrument for the price.
