Very impressive Plug N Play
I picked this unit up not too long ago and really am impressed by how quickly it worked and responded to my setup. I am running three (3) 24" Sceptre IPS (E248w-FPT) monitors for my home office setup, but was disappointed to learn that my Surface Laptop 3 (with original docking station) would only support two (2) external monitors. I was already getting away with two HDMI to USB-C connectors to the dock and since I had two more slots I figured I just needed a third adapter. The third screen was not recognized and I thought I was out of luck having purchased the third monitor and mount for three screens. After reading on an MS thread that someone used a 3 HDMI to 1 USB-C adapter to make this happen even after MS said it wasn't supported (and the MS response was "Glad you got it to work"), I picked this unit out on Amazon and gave it a try. All three monitors were recognized instantly as individual monitors through only one USB-C connection. I can cycle them as needed and appoint monitors "1, 2, and 3" without issues. In addition, I freed a port on the docking station. Very impressive and tells me that I can probably run six screens easily. This worked well on my Surface Laptop 3 with Win11. I look forward to trying on my mac pro as well.

Excellent adapter, works great with Linux
I was looking for an adapter to connect 2 monitors to the Yoga 900 ISK laptop. The laptop only has USB-C with an alt. mode. I couldn't find the info whether it supports mst(multistream). So I took a shot.Luckily, it does. It works flawless. I'm on Linux Mint 18.2 and it worked out of the box, I only had to configure the position of the monitors. Now the only issue I have is switching between profiles, i.e. connected via the adapter and standalone mode - the OS always thinks I'm connected, but it's obviously configuration issue in OS.Anyway, highly recommended. You can also complement it with a small adapter USB to RJ45 + USB (about $15) and you won't need these huge displaylink-based docking stations that require an additional power source and work via usb drivers.

First the monitored flickered more and more every day - eventually just gave out.
I bought this less than a year ago and it has failed - it makes the monitors flicker and eventually just gave out. where all the monitors stopped working. I replaced the cables, I replaced the docking station, This was the last piece that I did not think failed but this was the culprit and it cost me so much money. Wont buy another star tech product again.

Exactly what I needed
I needed to connect 2 older Viewsonic 1080p monitors to my laptop and this 3-port adapter did the trick. Plug and play. I returned a 2-port adapter because one port was for 4k.

Only got 2 screens working
For some reason ( most likely user error ) i only got 2 out of 3 of my screens on at a time, sometimes I could get 1 and 2, or 2 and 3 and worst case was 1 and 3 but never all which was frustrating.I thought this would be simple "plug and play" and i guess for those 2 screens it is, but I switched back to my original 2 prong since I just can't get the 3rd to work.I'm using this for standard wfh office work, I deal with lots of pdfs and xl to work off side by side so I wanted the additional monitor but I guess 2 is where I'm stuck.Didn't return it in case it's just my error and will try again another time.Middle level review, I don't necessarily recommend this but will update review if / when I figure out the 3rd screen

Have 3 Monitors---Need Third Eye
PLUG AND PLAY! Need I say more? I have an Intel NUC with USB-C and 3 monitor support. Plugged it in and all 3 monitors came to life instantly. I have 3 24" monitors, all HDMI connections. Two Viewsonic Monitors and and LG.If you need it, pull the trigger and by it. Pro's: It works perfectly. Con's: I wish it didn't cost so much.

Works great on Linux
Works great in "extended" mode (different content on all monitors) on both of my Archlinux laptops. Linux kernel 5.4.84 w/ NVIDIA graphics card, and 5.17.6 w/ Intel integrated graphics. Easy way to get three screens out of a single hardware DisplayPort.

Work from Home must have!
Use it for my three monitors at my home office. I am not very technically inclined, but I was able to connect it with ease.
