AN EXCELLENT BOOK
This book is clear, comprehensive, well-illustrated, and very well-written. There is no point in paying for an annual Adobe Photoshop subscription if one can't take every advantage of this fabulous program. I have been using Photoshop for decades ever since it first came out. This book will allow me to make use of the wonderful AI features in the program and other stuff I have not used before. Well worth every penny I paid. Thank you for this great book.

It provides updated assistance for generative editing.
This book is an update of the 2020 version. As such, it is almost compulsory for using AI tools and other key Adobe updates.

Not much new from previous publications
If the 2024 version is your first purchase of this book you will not be disappointed. However, if you have a previous version from the last 7 years you may not find it any more useful. I found the coverage of the newer Photoshop features to be lacking.

Newest Classroom PS-24 Ok But Fails Average User
Book is ok to read but free web version of book is better to use on iPad next to computer since you can read screen shots more clearly. The printed book shows screens but difficult to read all the stuff Adobe packs on the main window. My main complaint is that the book tries to cover too much stuff and seems to try to satisfy Adobe’s cloud based apps which are often aimed at designers, rather than photographers. Also the really hard task most Classroom buyers need help with is printing using a printer, like Epson or Canon. But a lot of space is given primary focus to CMYK color profile and preparing files to send to outside lab and less than two pages to sending files to home printer. Most of the photographers I know want help using Photoshop and their printers. I think those who work in CMYK and send stuff to labs know most of the stuff in the book. I think Adobe needs to have the writers focus less on the fancy stuff and to think more on the basics and who is most likely to buy their books or how they control what’s covered in the book. I’ve worked with Photoshop since the 80s and I still need refreshers on selecting, layers, tools, etc. Photoshop is a huge system. Add on Lightroom and it’s mind boggling. The Photoshop Classroom is like taking 4 years of college in one year.

Learning a Lot
As a comprehensive introduction to the kinds of things one can do with Photoshop, this book is excellent. There is even more to the program than I imagined. Instructions are very clear and appropriately step-by-step. Indeed, the only times I get "lost" is when I have failed to follow what is said to the letter. Moreover, there are bountiful illustrations and helpful 'extras' that point the way to deeper understanding. My interest is solely photographic, and so the chapter on video editing and a couple of others on typography and vector drawing were not of any immediate use. However, at least I know they are there if my circumstances or interests change.Quibbles:I should imagine that many readers will, like me, be approaching Photoshop after several years of being happy with Lightroom. It would have been very useful for this book to have been clear more often about where the added value, if any, lies in Photoshop.Obviously, not all aspects of Photoshop could be covered in an introduction of this kind. For that reason, the decision to spend time on, for example, Puppet Warp seems quirky.

Cold for accessing lesson file
The book is good, but I could not access. The online lessons cannot find the proper code. Please help me with this or else I will return the book.
