Cat wouldn't eat
This seems like high quality food. It comes with big chunks of chicken in a broth with potatoes and spinach. It is grain free and has added vitamins for kitty health. According to the company they use only high quality whole food ingredients which I suppose is the reason for the high priceUnfortunately, my cat didn't want anything to do with it. My cat is really picky, so I don't want to give a bad rating based on my cat's tastes, but usually he will at least try just about anything I put in front of him and turn away after a few bites if it's not for him. With this one it seemed like just the smell alone was enough to turn him off, he wouldn't even take a bite. I wish I could get him to eat better food, he seems to go for the cheap stuff more than the expensive, but what can you do. It doesn't matter how good it is if kitty won't eat it

Merrick Chicken Divan...
This Merrick Purrfect Bistro Soirees cat food has high quality ingredients that I appreciate as a cat mom. It is grain free and does not have cheap junk fillers like corn, wheat, soy, random by-products, etc. The Chicken Divan variety has deboned chicken, chicken bone broth, vegetable broth, chicken liver, spinach, dried egg product, natural flavors, potatoes, etc. as the first few ingredients. The food looks and smells more like human food than cat food when I open it. Guar gum is one of the ingredients slightly further down the list of ingredients. I don’t like that addition, but it’s hard to find canned cat food without it.I have 3 adult cats who get dry food and eat canned/wet food twice a day. Cat #1 eats any canned food happily, and this one is no exception. Cat #2 is very fussy and usually ignores most canned food. But he loves this one. Cat #3 is a puzzle to me. He normally eats any canned food eagerly. The first two times I gave him this food, he smelled it and left. The third time, I lightly mashed it with a fork because he likes pate texture food more. That did the trick and he eats it now. This food is pricey at almost $2 per small 2.75 ounce can (as of the time of this review). I recommend checking a local pet food store to see if you can get one or two cans for your cat to try before buying a whole case.

Looks more like dog food
My kitties have tried Merrick before and have liked some flavors so this seemed like a new flavor for them. The ingredients are fine and the food looked good as far as cat food goes, but it really wasn’t popular. Two of the five inside ones kind of ate it, mostly just licked the gravy while the community cats left it for last if they ate it at all. I think it is because there are really large chunks of potatoes in this food. Indeed it really looks more like the food they sell for small dogs than cats with the chunky veggies in it. The gravy apparently was tasty but at the price of Merrick this one may only be for those cats that like chunky food and potatoes.

Cats won't eat it
My cats typically eat premium Fancy Feast. Like the medley's. They are cheaper than this and look a lot better. First off the meat is brown, it doesn't even look like chicken. Ok, but there are some brands that they processed chicken looks similar... Not for this money. The biggest issue though is the cats won't eat it. I have three cats. One pickey, one normal, and one we nick named the trash panda. When the trash panda only nibbles at it won't do. The packaging is all fine and dandy, but the cats won't east it.

Good quality food but not all of our kitties eat it.
This is good quality cat food with nutritious ingredients such as real meat (deboned chicken, chicken liver) and real potatoes and spinach. You can see these ingredients in the food and the gravy is also delicious since it's the one thing that all of my kitties will eat. However, only one out of our four cats will also eat the chicken chunks and veggies. The others will lap up the gravy around the meat and veggies so I'm not sure if it's because they don't like the taste or if it's a textural thing where they don't like chunks and prefer the pate texture since it's what they're used to. I do wish they would eat this since it's healthy and not filled with additives. I will probably try mixing it with their pate to see if they might try to eat it then.

Looks like great quality, one cat loved the sauce
Only two of my four eat wet food and both were eager to try this as a morning snack. Both dove in heartily but the feral female quickly gave up and went back to some leftover breakfast wet food (Friskies Pate, nothing special). Meanwhile the 17# boy cat was happy to consume all of the gravy and some of the meat from his plate, and then to clean up the gravy from her plate as well. I’d have to count this as not a success for my cat family. The quality looks excellent. there’s a nice mix of uniform cubes of mostly meat, and an appropriate amount of thick sauce. I’m no expert on the ingredients here, the addition of spinach and potatoes strike me as foods a cat would not normally eat in the wild. I’ll defer to the many who are more knowledgeable about proper cat dietary requirements. This food certainly feels like a high end product. 5 stars, even though my guys aren’t fans. Your results may well differ.

Chunks, high quality ingredients
Cats. Some of them are more particular than others. My fab five prefer pate, followed by whatever they shouldn’t be eating, finally foods that are chunks. To combat this, we smoosh up the food. This stuff actually smells and looks like real food- discernable chunks of meat, potatoes, and spinach. The fab five eat it, but would prefer pate. If you can’t stomach other cat foods and your cat will eat chunks, you may want to try this.
