Literally, for years, we've been thinking something was wrong with our garage door opener until my son suggested it was the sun causing the problem since it seemed to only happen in the afternoon. Found these and figured with free returns I had nothing to lose. WHY DID I WAIT SO LONG?! Don't be me... Order these things cuz they're little miracles! No more frustration at the garage door not closing-just smiles. 😊

It is intended to shelter the sun rays, allowing the door to close. We have morning sun that prevents the door from closing. We have to get out of car and hold the button on the external keypad, and try to block the sun. So far so good. It’s the best solution, and I’ve tried many.

Was told that my garage door motor needed replacing because it sporadically wouldn't close. Decided to begin process of elimination. These were the first things that I changed and it fixed my problem. They work perfect. Thanks

We had consistent problems with the garage door not closing because of the sunshine. That is no longer a problem. We no longer have to get out of the car to cast a shadow so the door will close. These were easy to install and work very well!

Our garage door seems to be in just the right place to catch too much sun on the right hand door sensor. Annoying for one of us to have to get out of the car to stand and shield the sun from falling on the sensor.This was a simple cure. I only installed one on the right hand sensor, as the sun never falls on the one on the left.The hole lined up perfectly with my existing wingnut, so I just held the sensor in place, unscrewed the thumbnut, pup the protector in place, screwed it back together and tested it out in the sunlight. Worked perfectly. I also note that I could still see the sensor's yellow power light with the unit in place, as there are two extra holes in the protector that allow the power light to be seen.Wish I had found these 2 years ago when we moved in and discovered the annoying issue!

Certain times of year, at certain times of day the sun will hit my garage door sensors just right and the door will not close. I have to grab a remote, then stand just right to block the sun to get it to close. This kit resolves that issue by blocking the sunlight while allowing the beam to shine across the doorway. Super simple install using just the thumb nut on the sensors, took less than a minute to install. Made of thick black plastic, mine were 3D printed, these work great and fit perfectly. Very happy to have this issue solved, well worth the money if you have this issue!
