This easily plugs into a car USB port and has a switch to turn it on and off. Note that it does NOT plug into a cigarette lighter style power port unless you add your own adapter with a USB port.I was surprised that this is pretty much just a circuit board with LEDs attached and visible soldered wires, not what I’d call a “finished” enclosed product. That’s OK for the price.Where I don’t appreciate the barebones quality is that the suction cups don’t hold onto the windshield even when both are cleaned. That means a lot of light is going to leak into the car and affect the driver. If the suction cups did hold, there’d still be a light-leaking gap. A rim would come in handy and help add a “finished” feel to the product.The light is also quite bright, with no way to set low vs high brightness for daytime vs nighttime driving. Replacing the on-off with an off-low-high switch would be great. That way the sign could be visible on a bright day without being blinding at night.As I said, though, the product works, and it’s affordable, so it gets three stars instead of one or two.

Loved the beautiful definition of the sign, but just too bright. Hurt my eyes. Manufacturer should redesign with a dimmer.

Perfect Has on Off Button Too

Here we go- another LED gadget. Did I need this? NO. But it looked cheesy enough and had some LED lights on it, so it was a must have item. I read another review about the back-scatter of light from this being a bare-bones circuit board with lights, a switch and a cord, and yep, that's what we have here- a fiber board, LEDs, some current reducing resistors, a 5' cord, and a switch. Bare basics- with significant glare due to the board being suction cupped to the windshield with no shielding around the perimeter of the board. So I modified mine to keep the glare from this green monster from reflecting back inside of my vehicle, and actually used it to pick someone up at the airport (at night). My solution was cheap, easy and quick- I just used some 3/8" self stick window foam around the entire edge on the front of the board, and stuck it on the windshield. It still gives a little light back from reflecting off the outside of the windshield, but nothing like it was. The person I was picking up gave their location, and all I sent back was "SHARE CAR". They were baffled as to what I meant. After seeing my vehicle from about 900 feet away from his pickup point, when he got in, he said "Holy smokes- I saw you before any of those blue-purple signed guys were ever visible". So, this sign definitely stands out from the other car signs you see on the roads. It is a laser green bright, and it actually lights up trees on the right side of the road in the dark. Seeing this sign in daylight is no problem, and at night you cannot miss this thing. Unbelievably bright green. It works, it's different, it's unique, it stands out, and it isn't the other 2 players- it's SHARE CAR. 12/10 for color, brightness and being different.
