Does this work for fine thread as well as coarse thread? (ie 1/4-20 vs 1/4-32)

Yes, it follows the thread. I never heard of 1/4-32 though. 1/4-28

would this product (universal thread repair tool) work on alluminum? I have a pressure washer that the hose wont stay screwed into the wahser itself

The UTR will work on aluminum threads. But be sure that the hose size does not exceed the max size of the UTR. I think the max specified is 1/2 inch, which might be smaller than your fitting.

would this work on 1/2" brass water pipe nipples?

This is a pipe thread and a larger restorer is required.
