Love this movie

Okay. This movie is something of a guilty pleasure. Don't judge me.

I enjoyed the film start to finish.

The story line is a bit fanciful. But the interactions and respect between the Selma and Penelope is great to watch.

I gave it five stars, even though this is not a "great" movie, as in those that win Academy Awards. It more fits into "B" movie status, but in the context of it being a self-described western comedy, it's just excellent! I just bought the DVD; I had waited years for this to come out on Blu-ray, but finally checked out the DVD, and the price was very nice, so I bought it. I needn't have worried about video or audio quality, both are great. My Oppo Blu-ray player upconverted the video; it looked wonderful on my 60" plasma (viewed in a totally dark home theater). The photography was gorgeous, with jaw-dropping scenic vistas at every turn; Cruz and Hayak were also gorgeous, but that was a given. No complaints with the audio either through my 9.1 channel system; really nice. Produced and written by Luc Besson (one of my favorites), the story was complete, feel-good and classy, somewhat of a surprise. Really good chemistry between Cruz and Hayak; I learned from the extra features that they are good friends and had wanted to do a movie together, but when they could not find one, they put Bandidas together themselves--it was clear they had fun doing the movie. Steven Zahn, their partner in crime, is also one of their mutual friends; he rounded out the threesome. Not a heavy movie--just fun! Good for repeat viewings, for sure.

I'd never heard of this movie before it showed up on a recommendation list but two beautiful women in a Western? You-betcha' I'm watching this with my bride at my side.Yes...it might be semi-classified as a chick flick, or a comedy because there's binary beauties and lots of laughs, but it has action, intrigue, not too much machismo, and it's a Western with horses and everything.Wife and I thoroughly enjoyed it and noticed that the ending left open the possibility of a sequel...which we would really like to see happen.

I tend to be very picky when it comes to westerns. IMHO, there are good westerns, bad westers, and really ugly low budget westerns. As far as I'm concerned, this is a great western. It's no Unforgiven, Open Range, Tombstone, or Lomsome Dove, but it is a fun movie to watch. I highly recommend it.

Le mie due donne preferite. L'avro' guardato piu' di 50 volte. Solo perche' e' un bel film. E solo perche' ci sono due protagoniste da urlo.
