QWORK Automatic Timed Condensate Drain Valve 1/2" NPT Inlet 1/4" Outlet – Programmable Electric Air Drain for Compressor Tanks, Dryers & Filters

I bought this for my 80 gallon twin cylinder two stage air compressor with 5 hp motor. It’s getting older and I decided to let the moisture out the easy way. These work great! Every set period of time (variable) the solenoid activates and drains moisture out of the tank. This cleans the air for outside use and prevents rust inside the tank. I recommend these units.

Being busy and forgetful, I often forget to drain the water build up from my compressor. This automatic drain solves the problem. Water causes damage to the compressor as well as the air powered tools. Water can crea problems while painting and using blast media. Simple screw in and power up operation with minimal configuration is required. While 150 psi isn't all that much pressure the sturdy construction of this drain promotes safe usage especially considering the really competitive pricing.

Reducing to 1 star. DO NOT buy. Wanting to install my tank drain with proper fittings, I spent about $50 at the hardware store to pipe in solid brass lines. On the outlet side of the solenoid, I ran 3/8" copper tubing to route the condensate outside of my shop. After finishing the install I pressurized my tank, cycled the solenoid with the test button a few times, impressed myself with how quiet the drained air is (if an auto drain hasn't jump scared you, you haven't spent much time in a shop) and called it good. About three hours later, I walked back to my compressor room and was shocked to discover the solenoid was stuck open. I checked the hour meter on the compressor, and it had clocked 2 hours of run time since the auto drain install. The install that I had completed 3 hours earlier. Given the 45-minute drain time I set, that means that the FIRST TIME it was supposed to drain for 2 seconds, it failed, causing my compressor to run for 2 hours. The tank was almost too hot to touch. I have uninstalled this auto drain, purchased a DeWalt auto drain, and another quart of compressor oil to change out the baked oil. In trying to save a few bucks, I ended up spending over $200 to rectify the failure of this POS tank drain. Original review: I should have watched the installation video in the reviews first. The taper pipe thread of the solenoid block is not designed to be used with the straight pipe thread of the filter/shutoff. Guy in the video epoxied the threads together, which IS an option. The threads aren't going to come apart, it's not a safety concern, but it's extra effort I shouldn't have to do. It's a cheap kit, and it shows. Also, and this is me being nit-picky, while the solenoid is 110v rated, it's 50Hz. Only speaking for the US grid, power is supplied at 60Hz. Again, it'll work, but it could be better. You get what you pay for.

Wish it would go much longer between cycles but it works fine, one of the included 90′ valves was worthless so I removed a *. It doesn't actually fit the included parts and leaked air, used one I already had. Aside from that valve it works fine. It cycles more often than I need it to, 1 time a day would be fine for me so I just unplug it unless I'm in the shop, my air is shut off if I'm not there anyway.

Great product. I have multiple air storage tanks for my shop. I had them all piped to one manual drain valve, that at times you'd remember to drain when water started shooting out of your air tool! I haven't seen any moisture in system since installing this valve. It'll pay for itself in no time by protecting air tools.

I would probably give it about 2.5 stars. While it does the job described, but it is getting there that is the issue. You have to buy adapters to make it work! I finally get all the adapters I need and installed. I turn my air compressor on and as you can see in the picture, all the air evacuated like a fat kid in a donut shop that ran out of donut holes. So the hose is poor quality. I replaced it with a long galvanized nipple and it is now operating as intended. But there for a while I wasn't sure. So terrible fit, terrible hose but it will operate when it's all said and done. Easy enough to use and cheap so I am not sure what I expected for the price!

This is the best auto drain ever, it would be sweet if it had a 5 hour setting for lower usage compressors. But I absolutely love this thing. We own 4 compressors all 80 gallon and this has really helped.

compré este "kit" pensando que era lo único que necesitaba para dejar mi compresor con purga automática. no trae adaptador de 1/2 a 1/4 npt, el cual tuve que pedir de amazon por que no lo conseguí en las tiendas cercanas a mi. le pongo 2 estrellas por que la solenoide jala bien por el momento, pero este producto se anuncia como un kit y no es un kit, solo son una seleccion de piezas sin ese adaptador.
