Exactly What I Hoped For
Nothing to dislike. This is excellent chili--even better than I expected. The product arrived when promised, was well packaged, and there were no dented cans. I would definitely order again.

Not overly spicy -- hits just the right notes -- thick.

Good ol' Stagg chili
It's really hard to beat Stagg Chili- decent flavor, good consistency, and pretty high quality ingredients. Great as a meal, snack, or just because you don't feel like cooking dinner. Spicy without being overpowering, and the cans last forever. Would recommend!

It's really just Beef Chili with Beans.
Taste buds. Maybe mine are tired, but the Chipotle flavor was no where to be tasted.

Very favorably impressed! Similar to my homemade chili.
My husband loves Hormel chili but I find it greasy and heavy since it is lacks vegetables. Hormel chili also has that "canned meat" flavor and texture. I just assumed all canned chili was like Hormel's, but am happily surprised with this Stagg Chipotle Beef Chili with Beans. First of all, it is not greasy. I opened a can and was happy to see there was no layer of gelatinous orange grease at the top. ALso, it has a fresh-made test rather than a canned taste, and there veggies in this chili, just like in my homemade chili. There are diced onions, peppers, and beans, and of course a tomato base. The meat is ground beef cooked into in crumbles of different sizes from small to fairly large. And while there are beans in this chili, it is not loaded with beans used as filler, rather, there are just enough beans for the right flavor and texture. There are about as many beans in the chili as there are ground beef chunks. The smoky chipotle flavor is subtle; I honestly wouldn't mind there being more chipotle flavor but still found the chili quite yummy as is.I topped this Stagg chili with some grated cheese and chopped green onions, heated it in the mircowave, and enjoyed it with some Fritos. It was quite good, the perfect quick-and-easy lunch on a cold day. For someone trying to avoid eating too much fat, Fritos surely weren't my best choice but they were so yummy with this chili. And despite not being greasy, this chili does have 17 grams of fat per cup. I'm surprised it is that high because it does not look, feel or taste greasy. Overall, though, this chili is really good and with it's fresh flavor and veggies has completely changed my opinion of canned chili.

Very good flavor. Pop in the microwave and it is ready to eat.
What this is:This is 12 cans of Stagg Chipotle beef chili with beans. Each can is 15 ounces. Each can is an easy open no can opener required top.Take the top off, pour in the bowl, heat in the microwave. It is ready in less than 2 minutes to eat.The flavor is good. This is not homemade chili. I am not comparing it to homemade chili. This is canned chili that each can cost under $2.60 at the time of this review. It tastes good and It is a good deal in my opinion. There is a gentle heat that starts off almost as nothing and builds to about a 3 on a 1 to 10 scale. The flavor is not salty. It reminds me of gas station chili on hot dogs. It has plenty of beans and meat. The meat does not have the texture or flavor of just cooked ground meat. It does have a canned kind of texture and flavor. The ingredients are listed in one of the photos on the product page. The ingredients are simple. I like this.5 stars:I am not comparing this to homemade chili. There is no comparison. I would take homemade chili every time. I am reviewing this for what it is. Canned chili at a very decent price. It is tasty. It has simple ingredients. I am quite happy with it. Makes for a quick dinner when there is no time or just simply don't feel like cooking anything.

Delighted
Most times I have chili it's at chili festivals so I was a little confused by how pleasant this chili was. Perhaps unbeknownst to me, chili is just one of those foods that cans really well. But this did not taste like something out of a can. Not that it was festival grade, but there was no canned-ness to it and it was easily better than chili I might find at a fast food joint. It was robust (especially the kidney beans) and very tasty. The flavor is balanced. Not meat-forward, not bean-forward, not tomato-forward. More like: meat and beans up front by a small margin, and right behind them the tomato and spices. I will note that it does NOT pack a lot of heat or smoke. A mild, non-overpowering amount of smoke. And just a little kick of heat. You may need to add your own heat.I was very pleased to see the ingredients were real food too, not a bunch of chemicals. The front of the can boasts "No artificial ingredients, minimally processed" and it seems perfectly true. The best by date was a year and a half out, which may not be great for long term emergency supply use. But seems reasonable. Especially considering the ingredients are real food and not chemicals.
