Beautiful, takes time (and it should, so all good!)
Reminds me of the old Airfix kits I used to do as a boy - quick and easy to do if you just follow the instructions, but if you want to make a good job of it, get some paint, a sharp knife, some light sandpaper and bring a lot of patience. Then spend a while and enjoy the ride. For example, if you create the individual books the way the instructions suggest, you end up with some vaguely book shaped bits of wood. If you take the time to make the book spines bulge out like real books do (and in fact, how they did it for the product photos) then it looks a LOT more realistic - shadows fall properly on the books and they 'pop' a lot more.Little things make a big difference in model makingTook me a few afternoons, but they were thoroughly enjoyable, especially as you see it build up. No horrible paint smells or messy techniques either; its all wood glue and simple screws.Physically, it is very sturdy, and you get a good sign of this simply by the heft of the box when you receive it; nothing is flimsy. It is quite fiddly in places though, so not for a young builder, although there is no part 'that easily breaks and ruins the model because you can't fix it'.Probably for a child that is already good with building things (or more likely, an adult that once was that child!).The other good thing is my better half loves the finished work (and much much more than she would a Spitfire and BF-109). It now resides in a living room bookcase; the one where everything in it is pre-vetted by her, so that is high accolade in itself, and a full 5 stars!Downside? She asked me for another one for the our other bookshelf!

Not too shabby
The media could not be loaded. It looks just as per picture once it’s built. It took me 6h to complete . Some parts were difficult to get out from the board and snapped in the process - good glue tho so not too much drama.I would say the instructions could be improved and more glue should be provided. The books covers could be stickers instead of paper. That was the most dull task - cutting out the covers and glue them together. The front button seems for decor or it is broken and the light is to be switched on at the back of the unit. It comes with the music box even tho it says one the instruction booklet that it is to be purchased separately. Made no difference to me as sure as hell it’s not needed.Apart from that nice gadget in within the books.

Requires patience... and more glue
I love products like this, where it requires patience and building and in the end you get a fantastic product out of YOUR hard work. It's a very rewarding hobby, so to speak, but only when you're given enough of what you need to help with building this wooden book nook. And for me, there were a few things there could have been more of: clearer instructions (you have a few notes telling you what to do, but otherwise it's a picture driven instruction booklet with very few clear instructions), and more glue (at first I was using a lot of glue, but halfway through I had completely ran out and still had much to do, and my only option then was to use a glue stick (didn't work well to glue a wooden item onto one of the sides of the nook), or a hot glue gun (which was too messy to use for smaller items to glue together)). By the time it came to glueing all four borders together and finishing this product, it wasn't holding together, things were falling off, and overall it just looks an absolute mess.It was still rewarding to have completed it by the end, but I do wish the instructions had been clearer and that there was more glue provided to help me complete this product and it actually look good. But if you don't have patience, this won't be a good product for you to have.

DIY Mini House Kit
We have a bit of an addiction to these little book nooks and miniatures. This one was better than many we have done providing a higher quality of paper and painted wood pieces. Some of the instructions were lacking but want difficult to figure it out. Not for the novice but super fun and adorable when complete. This is a neat DIY miniature house kit. I have done many kits both complete DIY as well as snap together wooden book nooks. This kit is a mixture of complete construction pieces and snap together wooden pieces. Usually, the kits are all one construction method instead of the mixed method like this one. I wasn't sure I would like the mixed media, but it has the best of both worlds. It has the snap together puzzle like pieces but includes the more detailed miniature construction too. It contains everything you need except the glue and tools. I prefer to use Crafter's Pick Ultimate Glue to make the small furniture and flowers and secure the snap on wooden pieces together. I suppose regular wood glue would work but the Ultimate Glue dries much faster and is much easier to use and clean up. I also have some small tools and scissors that make the kit much easier to assemble. This kit really has been fun and easy to put together. The pieces are all included and labelled for ease of construction. The instruction booklet is easy to follow and contains detailed pictures for comparing your work. You will need a couple AAA batteries to make the LED lights work. I gave this kit 5 Stars. It is the perfect way to keep your mind sharp and have a relaxing hobby to show for it. If you love to put crafts together and have a little patience and time you should definitely get a kit like this to do. This one is great for the beginner and the more experienced builder alike.
