Q: Before i install it, How do you remove this? Unscrew it? Or does it clip into place?

Didn’t install mine as it would be a permanent fixture and in the way especially for my cover.

Q: Anyone compare this to the smartpool pool eye?

This one is permanently installed. Didn’t use it.

Q: Is this NY state verified?

It pass inspection for NYC but I don’t know about NYS requiredments. I don’t see why it won’t!!!!

Q: Does it need to be set on reset and on for alarm to be on ?

You have to go out to turn it off and is really loud.
