"Like a laser through butter!" I had the L-1 and it was superb, this thing is even better with the non slip grip and extra sharp black blades. Get a few of these and give them to your friends too, this thing is just the best and is a joy to use.

I received the NOL-1/BB, not the NOL-1. Reading reviews now I see that I'm not the only one.The knife will work fine, but it is black/very dark gray and more difficult to see in work areas.It is not worth returning due to the low cost.

Love this knife. I use it for carving and it's the perfect size and shape. I like the weight of the knife and how the blade adjusts. I can extend it out to maximize the blade sharpness.

Got it today and was not the color I wanted. The picture shows a yellow blade not a grey one.

I've been using one of these for many years now, it doesn't look nice anymore as the yellow rubber had become quite dirty and covered with glue and other stuff. Nonetheless the knife performs like on the first day. The handy wheel can easily be tightened or loosened. The stainless steel guide is sturdy enough to act as a paint can opener on its tip...I only ordered another two of these knives as spares at different workplaces as I can't stand all the cheap knives you can buy at the usual outlets.

I checked on other sites and these were the best price. Good value for money. Easy to fit new blades. Easy to use. Blade retracts easily. What more can you ask for ?

Beautiful utility knife from Japan. It's so rare to see merchandise from there. You know it's going to be high quality. That being said China also has high standards in its production values. Well made knife that's very comfortable to use. Very glad to replace my dollar store utility knife with this one.

The locking mechanism would be better if it was metal. I would like to say I have been using these knives for decades and have never broken one yet. The blades are excellent and I will often strop the blade instead of snapping it off right away. Excellent Japanese steel. I have been using the rubber coated version for years and they have excellent grip in the hand and resistant to chemicals, solvents, glue and other common products.
