This Dutch oven is a beautiful, rich red color that I absolutely love (my photo does not do it justice). The finish is really smooth and glossy. I was hesitant to use it on my glass ceramic cooktop, but after receiving the product I am not worried that it will scratch or damage anything because the bottom is flat and perfect. My main intention is to use it in the oven to make chilis, stews, pot roasts, pot pies, or for baking bread (I want to try sourdough). I think it will be great for these foods. I made chili with chicken in it and it worked very well, with really nice even heating and nothing got burned.It is very heavy and feels very durable. Since it is cast iron underneath the enamel coating you do have to be careful in two ways. One, you don’t want to scratch the coating and two, if you drop this pot it could definitely break other dishes. Also it says to be careful not to shock it with abrupt temperature changes. Since I am using this for larger cooking items like stews for in the oven, I got the 7.5 QT oval size, but if you are cooking for only 1 or 2 people or not making large quantities I think the smaller round version would fit better on the cooktop and be easier to handle because it would have a smaller size and weight. This product is so sturdy that I think I will be able to use it for many, many years. It also cleaned up really easily with no issues.So to sum up this seems to be a great quality product and at a great price. And the amazing color makes it beautiful looking too! I would buy it again and it would make a great gift for newlyweds.

This dutch oven looks and feels and performs just like me very expensive dutch ovens whose initials are L.C. at 1/3 or less of the price.I bought this with plans for its first cook to be Cochinita Pibil. I know home cooks prefer to make that in a slow cooker but I'm so tired of wonky slow cookers and their issues that I decided to add an oval shape dutch oven to my collection and cook it at 275 for 3-4 hours instead of slow cooker 190-200 at 6-7 hours.So we did it. We made Cochinita Pibil in this dutch oven and it turned out great. I'm very pleased with this because that recipe involves the oven braising and then after the meat is cooked I was able to take out the banana leaves and boil the sauce down without transferring it to another pot or dealing with the peeling layers of another nonstick slow cooker insert.By the way, the finish on this is beautiful (we got the oval shape in red) and it came packaged very nicely too. This would be a great and very memorable gift for someone who loves to cook or for a new homeowner who has all the intentions of cooking. It is just as impressive as the expensive dutch oven brands but comes at an affordable price.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

The pot looks great and is quality for the price you pay! I wanted a dutch oven and after reading tons of reviews and comparing a few brands I ordered this one. I’m very happy with the purchase and glad I decided on this one!!

Works very well and our chicken fell off the bones. It’s heavy without food, so be aware of that. The painted exterior chipped and I don’t know how that happened.

So happy with my new Velaze Dutch oven! I was anxiously awaiting its arrival yesterday as I had all the ingrediebts ready for a ‘one pot chicken and rice’ dish.. it arrived mid- afternoon, so in time to make the recipe for dinner.It was delicious! The ingredients cooked together wonderfully- I’m so impressed with this beautiful ( and reasonably-priced!) Dutch oven. It cleaned so nicely afterward- bonus that it is a red, my favorite color! ( I ordered the 6 qt after having read reviews of the 7.5 qt being too heavy.)This is the perfect size! I will get so much use out of it! 👍🥰

Although I am yet to use the product, but it meets my expectation, it’s just a little smaller in size than I expected.
