Prophetic Visions of the Future

bias vs balance
When I first read this book in 1998, I felt that the lowest rating should be 0 stars because after I read it from cover2cover, I immediately threw it away. I didn't even want to donate it to the local library. By writing and publishing this book, the author is guilty herself of practicing an opposite-gender-bias equal to that practiced against women by religious men and male historians of our patriarchal world history. The author, in this book, reveals her biases, fears and hate of men. Now I am a feminist myself. And am aware of the injustices that men have wrought upon women throughout history and how women today are still subjugated and controlled and prevented from achieving their fullest potential. But in reading this book I am acutely aware that the author here forgets that one of the deepest meanings of Feminine Sacred Divine is Community and Sacred Interconnection. It is patriarchal programming and mindset that creates Hierarchy and Inequality of one group over another. Stein's envisioned future of powerful women who dominate over men, continues this karmic cycle.I was disappointed to have found, in this book of prophecies, future utopias describing men in inferior roles, ignoring their undeniable potential to contribute to society as equals. Stein's prophecies put forward, matriarchal cultures and societies that continue PATRONIZATION and INJUSTICE of one gender over another, that is the female sex over the male sex. How can a healer of Ms. Stein's caliber put forward an imbalanced future that renders males' talents and gifts inferior to that of females'? Don't we women have love for our sons, and the sons of our daughters? And so the gist of my review is that this future that Stein has prophesied is just as bad as patriarchal societies that have been doing injustice to women. Deep down in our deepest selves, our souls, we are beyond ego and illusion, we are beyond male and female, are we not? But in this future envisioned by Stein continues to incur karmic debt... it is a future that still is imprisoned by yet another set of rules, dogma and illusion...I wrote this review 10 years ago when I began to first be curious about prophecies and also became aware of the patriarchal history of gender bias against women. this book presents visions and prophecies strongly tainted with the bias that societies will be better ONLY IF women are the dominant forces and the ruling class. Although I too believe that females' gifts and contributions are part of our modern day world's healing process, as the author does, I do not believe that female rule and domination is The Answer to the human race's higher evolution as is illustrated in this book. Our individual and collective lives need women to reclaim their Masculine and the Men to Reclaim their Feminine(which usually takes place it mid-life transitioning time AKA "mid life crisis").Prophecies are echoes of possible futures. The visions of this book are of a future not beneficial or desirable for the advancement and evolution of the human race (and who cares what gender you are!) since whether you are a woman or a man should not even be a point of privilege and cause for inequality in the future. If prophecy is fulfilled by where our attention is given, then I cannot give this book any more attention. For my hope of the future is not filled with more gender bias, inequality and oppression (or of any other sort), but rather for balance and healing.
