Worth the money
Fenix lights are great, customer service is great. Lil story I've have a mini Fenix LD10 and it stopped working but I didn't want to toss it out, I called Fenix customer service and they told me that they don't make the LD10 any longer but I could send it in and they'll do their best if they can't get it to work they'll send it back with a 30% discount on a new one. Well I procrastinated on sending it....like weeks, but I seen it sitting on the counter and I went on and sent it off, well a few weeks later I got it back and it's working again. So the moral of this review is Fenix lights are worth the purchase. Was so happy I bought an LD30R

Great light
Compact but powerful light. Works great for me when I go through the scary dark areas of work. Haven’t had to change my underwear at work after I got this. Would buy again.

Improved LD30
Love my LD30 but love the LD30R more. Brighter with a longer throw, still great to EDC. I highly recommend the Fenix LD30R!!!

They have issues
I am a Fenix fan, but they have major issues with their USB-C ports. Almost every light has issues with changing port. I am sure they know it. Don’t buy them until they fix this. I am sure they would replace all my defective parts. That is not why you buy quality. I live on a sailboat cruising. I can’t wait to replace all their defects.

You simply can’t go wrong with a Fenix light!
I bought my first Fenix almost 15 years ago and was so impressed with it, that over the years, whenever I needed a new flashlight, Fenix was the first brand that I checked. I’ve owned four Fenixes in total. None of these flashlights have ever failed or disappointed me in any way and have held up incredibly well through the years of hard use.Unfortunately, I recently lost the beloved PD32 that was my long-time EDC light. Luckily, as I was looking for a replacement, this light showed up in my Vine queue. Ordering it was a no-brainer.As was the case with all my Fenix lights, this one came in nice, easy to open packaging which included the flashlight, USB-C cable, a nice wrist lanyard, basic nylon belt loop sheath and even a plastic hardcase for spare batteries. This is the first rechargeable light that I’ve ever owned. My one concern with that was whether the battery was removable and replaceable with a spare. I mean, I didn’t want to experience a situation where the battery would die on me and then having to wait until it charges again before I can take my light out. Luckily, this light runs on a standard 3400 mAh Lit-Ion rechargeable stick battery, and I happen to own several of them. Thus, as long as I keep at least one of them charged, this light should always be ready to go.The fit and finish on this light are great, which I’ve also come to expect from Fenix. The aluminum body is very well machined, including some indexing indent lines and washboard texturing which makes the handle less slippery while not messing with deployment out of pocket. The main activation button is large, well textured and clicky and the little copper mode select button, with a charge status indicator light in the middle, is easy to find by touch and feels good as well. Everything feels nice and solid and it’s also a a rather attractive device, especially with the copper accents on the brightness/mode button and around the objective. The design, features and functionality of this light are also excellent. The main button on the back is well guarded against accidental activation. Pressing lightly and holding it activates the “momentary” mode, with the light staying on until you let go. Fully depressing the button activates the light in “constant” mode. The selector button is very easy to find by touch and mainly cycles between the brightness modes. The brightness levels range from lukewarm to insane. Seriously, this light is incredibly bright on the highest setting. Definitely the brightest light that I’ve ever used or even tried! The beam is also perfectly focused by the objective lens. Holding the selector button activates a very effective strobe mode for tactical use. While the strobe is active, pressing the selector again switches the light to an “SOS” mode, where the light comes on an off in a Morse code pattern. I’ve never seen this before and find it to be pretty neat. There’s a nice removable pocket/hat clip that comes installed on the light. The pocket retention is great and so is smooth deployment. Overall ergonomics are excellent, and everything is very tactile. I also like the little charge status indicator light embedded in the selector switch. The only thing that I can pick on with this light is its weight. It is a very sturdy all-metal construction and is noticeably heftier than my trusty old PD32. I personally don’t mind it and find that this light sits very well in my Vertx jeans rear-side pocket. However, some people might have an issue with EDCing (or weapon mounting) a light of this heft. Speaking of mounting, it will work just fine as a rifle/shotgun light when combined with standard 1” ring mount. I don’t have any idea as far as the remote switch availability though. To wrap things up, this is a very well designed and built, duty-grade EDC flashlight that will probably last you a lifetime of reliable service. I can only recommend it.By the way, if you’re not EDCing a quality flashlight, you really should add one to your kit!
