No problems
Arrived on time and as described. No problem with the vendor. Movie London Boulevard is disappointing - has both Keira Knightly and Anna Friel in the cast but not much of a part for either of them.

Sytlish and satifying.
Hassle free transaction - no spoilers - just comment on the film.Didn't really know what to expect with this one - I tend not to read too much about films before seeing them for fear of spoiling my entertainment. It nicely balanced a retro fell with contemporary relevance, there wasn't much I didn't like about the film.Knightly was a let down again. I've yet to see her anything where I truly think 'that performance was brilliant'. To be fair the performance here was ok but I think largely helped by the excellent scripting, directing and surrounding cast. she didn't engage my sympathy, she wasn't alluring enough, she didn't really DO anything. Admittedly, her functions were to provide motivation and hope for Farell and to perhaps revel the truisms of life at the end. Ironically the one character that is supposed to be the object of our sympathies hardly even registered on my radar. A shame really as I'd like to see more of her and have her turn in just one star status justifying performance. Or at least do a convincing love scene.Farrel, who I always have worries about confounded me yet again - the anti knightly if you will - in that every time I see him in a film he is better than I expect. here he could be suave, violent, sensitive, low key intelligent and soulful - but always a presence and the sense of caged power. I could easily see him as a convincing Bond.(one for the future perhaps? )David Thewlis also gave an excellent performance. subtlety, whimsy whit pathos and liekability all emanated from this character and Thewlis did it brilliantly. Initially I didn't like the character but it just worked and grew before your very eyes.Winstone is rapidly becoming one of those actors who is always himself 'appearing' in a film 'in the role of...' . to say he typecast is like saying I think the Sun will rise tomorrow. I don't know what he is like as a person but here the character is more of a caricature, but serve the purposes well. Menace was only a wrong word away.Chaplin is a fine-ish actor and I Think his character was meant to be irritating. He did it well.Friel was - as most of the performances I've seen form her - excellent. her part could have had slightly more filling out but what there was was well done easy, on the eye and left you wanting more. in one scene - you'll know it when you see it - what you don't see has much more impact than what you do.The rest of the cast was well thought out and blended well. The overall product was entertaining, intelligent, stylish and very pleasing. I always have problems with the ends of films. I either want happy endings or realistic endings. Often what you get is an 'oh.... is that it then?'' Here the ending was in keeping with the film and I think the overriding point of the film was 'Cuz that's what life is'.ACID TEST: would I buy/watch again, or recommend? YES

Received open box item
I liked the movie, had watched on other platform, wanted to have a bluray of it. So, I placed an order for a new one, but I received an open box item. The disc seems to have minor scratches, havent played the entire length yet. But, having purchased a new one and receiving an open item, doesnt feel as good.

Very Entertaining
I went into this film not quite knowing what to expect. Based on the interviews in here and Rotten Tomatoes the response was very mixed but i was intruiged all the same. I can honestly say that i thoroughly enjoyed this film. The music, acting and script were very entertaining and al little offbeat which were in line with my sensibilities. Seeing Colin Farrell and Ray Winstone face off as foes was a real treat. As far as crime/gangster fare goes this was really entertaining.SPOILER ALERTI was a bit perplexed by the fat, papparazzi type who was often shown throughout this film and didn't really do anything and whose presence wasn't really explained. I also was annoyed how David Thewlis's character dispatched of the seedy copper played memorably by Eddie Marsan. Why would he have done this????Aside from these minor setbacks i thought the film was well acted and contained some great offbeat characters and an interesting and suitable soundtrack. How anyone could rate this 1 star is beyond me!Worth checking out.

Good but not great
My first complain would be the lack of special features on the DVD. There are just interviews with the actors/director/producer and they are not enlightning about the making off the more violent scenes and such. I also expected to see deleted scenes and there are none.Colin Farrell is perfect for the role and make you believe in his character. The support cast is great too. Keira not so much. I felt no emphathy for her character and although I understood Mitchel fell in love with her because she was so frail and needed protection, I didn't believe her acting on confusion and pain. The sex scenes are disappointing and dull. The script is interesting with many correlations as in the sentences - What does it have to do with me - I heard you were looking for me - and many ohter references, I can't talk about because it would contain spoilers, were engaging .It is a good entertaining movie, but easy to forget.

NOT SO BAD AS FAR AS GANGSTER MOVIES GO
Not a big gangster movie fan, what with all the silly shouting and swearing and trying to come across as hard, but this one kept my interest, even with the odd ending. So this guy gets out of prison and is offered a job protecting a celebrity, she's depressed and hounded by the press. The ex-con's sister is a drunk nymphomanic, which he struggles to put up with and his friends (sort of) are trying to get him into the gangster world, which he eventually gets forced into. It's not a special movie and i wouldn't spend long praising it,but it does the job with some great acters doing their job well, the story it passable and at 1 hour 40ish,i wouldn't say it's too long.So there's far worse gangster films out there if you ask me,but then i'm not a gangster film fan,i just enjoyed this for what it was, good but nothing special.

Enjoyable
One of those films that you enjoy watching, but will end-up probably watching only once. Although well acted, I found the portrayal of Mitchell's (the lead character) booze-addled sister annoying and implausible, and the ending, although unexpected, took the edge off the overall enjoyment.
