Great craft for young or old
Absolutely thrilled with my purchase of the latch hook kit! It's the perfect blend of fun and creativity, keeping both kids and adults entertained for hours. The small size is great for beginners or those with limited space, yet it doesn't compromise on quality. The colorful threads and easy-to-follow instructions make it a breeze to create a beautiful latch hook masterpiece. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a rewarding and enjoyable crafting experience!

Numbers of squares do not match up to the number in the pattern
this was a fun learning project but b aware that the number of squares do not match the squares on..the diagram. throws the pattern off. Not as noticeable on this design but not good on more detailed ones.

Damaged kit; contents seem okay
I have done several latch hook kits in the past, so I was excited to get this as a gift for the kids in my life to try. Upon arrival, however, the whole kit came damaged (see photos). The box is smashed, missing pieces, etc. Certainly, it cannot be given as a gift in this condition. Upon further inspection, the contents of the kit seem okay. It is nice that the canvas has a sewn/finished edge. I have done several kits that do not have finished edges in the past and they do come unraveled sometimes, so the finished edge on this set is a nice touch. Like other reviews have said, it is difficult to see some of the colors on the canvas. It would be nice if they were more bold so they would be easier to see. You can use the included instruction sheet though to do the colors, it's just not as easy if you can't see the colors on the canvas.

Cute beginner kit
This is a nice latch hook kit that includes everything you need to get started. There is plenty of yarn, a hook, and the pattern. I didn’t have any issues seeing the colors on the template, but I did need to enlist the help of a YT video to understand the mechanics of the craft as a first-timer. There are instructions but I wasn’t getting it. Luckily a small child had a tutorial that helped. Now that I have the hang of it, I’m making progress. It looks very cute and is a relaxing craft for any age. It is a good gateway to crafts like crochet because it has similar concepts but is much easier in my opinion. For those with short attention spans, you can do a few loops and move on to the next thing, or stick with it and eat up some time on a foul-weather day. In terms of quality, this is a kit for beginners like myself. It’s not an heirloom piece, it is a cute decoration that can be a lot of fun to put together with a child or grandchild to build some memories and keep them off the screens.

Nice design
A week ago, I finished a latch hook project and was thrilled that I could do it as it didn't bother my arthritic hands like I thought it might. So I ordered this one and have just started it. The latch hook that came with this kit is way too small so I am using the one that came with the previous kit. You may want to get a proper latch hook tool. The instruction sheet has only the bare minimal Including: "Before you embroider". Then it was called a pillowcase even though it is only 12" x 12" and will need finished off as a rug, pillowcase for a throw pillow/cushion, wall hanging, etc. They refer to using the chart for the actual embroidery color. And again refer to embroidered bars. One problem that I have frequently found with craft kits made in China is their lack of proper instructions and their lack of knowledge about the type of project they are producing. This is not in any way, shape or form an embroidery project. It is a latch hook project. I would have liked to have received a photograph of a finished star to see where the different colors fall as they have three color families that are very close in color and tend to blend in with each color on the chart. Seeing the actual photo helps to keep me in the correct color. I am hoping when I get finished with this project I want to design and make a larger latch hook rug to use on the floor. I have a lot of leftover yarn pieces from my last project, and yarn I have picked up at the thrift store plus more yarn I can cut up. Because of the design of this star it should give me good practice with angles and blending colors.10-26-23 Edited to add. While I have been enjoying doing this kit I have run into things I wasn't expecting. The first things is mark the top before you use any yarn. That way you can work on it it with the top always up and the yarn going in the correct direction. I ended up turning the canvas a few times before I realized I didn't have the top on top. This lead to some of my latch hook yarn being done in the wrong direction. I could have taken them out, but I got lazy. The second thing was the many angles and this is why I wanted to do this design in the first place. I did have difficulty following the design on the canvas and following the chart. A star if you see it drawn has straight sides, but having straight side that go in an angle on rug canvas, means things get jagged. I can see that I need more practice on this. The third thing and one of the more important things, is the width of the yarn kept changing. I didn't notice this until I got into the purple>blue yarn. Some of the yarn was twisted so tight that it was half the width of the normal fluffy yarn pieces. I tried to make sure that I was mixing them so that I didn't have a large patch of the super skinny yarns pieces that would look funny on the piece (like perhaps it was going bald.). So if I used a skinny yarn I made sure to use a fluffier yarn next. If I had made my own yarn pieces, I would be sure to not have the skinny pieces mixed in. I do all of one color at a time which is why I didn't notice this until I got into the blue shades. I am almost done at this point and I have enjoyed working on this piece and I feel ready to design and start in on my own design.I appreciate the opportunity to try out this kit. Thank you.

Adorable Latch Hook Rug Kit With All the Components
This little panda is just the most adorable little guy ever. This is a great project to make for a child. In fact, a child could even do it themselves depending on their age. Younger ones might need some instruction. The colors are clearly printed on the canvas. Every item you need is included. The edges are finished off. The yarn colors are bright and vibrant. The nice thing is that the entire project is about 12 inches by 12 inches so it's not going to be terribly time-consuming. It is something you can complete fairly quickly depending at which speed you work.Great purchase of a quality product.
