Cook like an Italian Boss! This book rocks!
I went to Tuscookany where Franco was the chef/teacher in 2011. I took that pic of him in my photos that I posted. The class was remarkable. His recipes are creative and a lot of protein/veggies- not just plates of pasta. Don’t get me wrong, there’s pasta, but there is so much more…To this day I use his fresh pastas, pizza dough, sauce, and desserts frequently. Killer is Osso Bucco. This book is written European style, gorgeous pictures, and requires ingredients we can easily find here in US. I included Franco’s conversion chart as I think it is important. If you want to learn Italian techniques, alternatives to the every day fare, and creativity, you need this book. His techniques will flow over into how you prepare other foods outside this book.I absolutely love this book.

Handy!
I really like how this book is set up. There are 3 course "meals" with recipes for each course. It provides a nice suggestion for pairing foods that go well together. There are extra recipes including desserts and beverages. The photos are very helpful (and presentation is stunning). The one thing for people in the US to be aware of- you will need to convert from metric. This is easy to do on the internet and then make notations in the book.I'm not ambitious enough to make the entire Italian Christmas meal- but I'm excited to add a bit of Italy on my table! Chef Franco isn't just a chef- he's a teacher and makes lots of helpful notations in the book.

What a great chef
I just got back from a one week cooking class with him. It was so amazing. We did receive one of his cookbooks, but not this one. I did go through this cookbook at one of the wine tasting we went to, but I had to wait to order this one till we got home. I can hardly wait to get it and try more of his recipes.
