KitchenCraft Stainless Steel Colander with Long Metal Handle, 20 cm (8"), Silver

I find this ideal for pasta. It only has holes in the bottom so the water doesn't drain out too quickly. This makes it easier to retain a bit of moisture in the pasta before tipping it back in the saucepan (for mixing with sauce) or into a serving bowl. It can also be used for draining vegetables, but I would recommend a larger, conventional colander for this. This drainer has a good, solid, well-made feel.

Just what I wanted and does the job. Four stars as the bottom is a bit thin and flexi plus the handle feels like it would work and look better if it angled slightly up the way instead of angling slightly down the way but that is maybe just me being fussy. Overall very happy with the quality and price.

I bought this colander for washing soft fruit such as blueberries or strawberries. It's nice to be able to hold it securely in one hand while swirling the fruits with the other but the water doesn't drain well through the holes in the bottom so I have to tip the colander to remove the remaining water. A few holes nearer the edge of the bottom of the colander would probably fix it.Also the base of the colander is very thin and moves up and down during use, making a noise.

Great colander that fits most saucepans . Very well made and dishwasher safe. Oh and very good value

Solid, Stainless steel, restaurant-kitchen quality with sturdy riveted handles on both sides.Just what I needed to strain the pasta/veggies after losing bits each time in the sink!The holes are Only in the bottom of the equipment(the rest are a photographic/light reflection on the supplied photos)No reason why you could not self-mod the item with an electric metal drill for Xtra holes if required.Well worth buying!

Functional little long-handled colander measuring just under 8 inches across that is ideal for straining rice or pasta while keeping your hands well clear of the action. Made out of quite thin steel, and apart from the handle has a neat little hook to sit it securely over a pan or sink. Seems robust enough at the moment, though time will tell how long the fixings on the handle last with use.

When this colander arrived I could see that it was cheaply made. Yes, it's stainless steel, but it's made from pretty thin material so that the bottom flexes easily. The holes had not been deburred enough, so it's rough on the inside. Also it was dented in two places, although this didn't seem enough reason to send it back.Now, after a year of use and being washed in the dishwasher (the instructions do say that it's dishwasher safe), the rivets holding the handles on have eroded (see photo) - they are not stainless steel - so there's barely anything holding the handles on now. It's only a matter of time before the handles fall off completely.I have been pretty disappointed with this product. I suggest that if you want a quality item that will last, you best avoid this.

This strainer does the job yet feels cheap as the metal is very thin, if you pop it into the dishwasher there are lots of places water hides and does not dry properly.It is a good practical size and the length of handle prevents you scalding yourself.Previous strainers I’ve owned have been made from one sheet of metal therefore less joints where water can get trapped.Not the best strainer but okay if you are on a budget.

Ich war schon länger auf der Suche nach einem qualitativ hochwertigen Edelstahlsieb in genau dieser Größenordnung und wurde hier endlich fündig. Die Öffnungen haben genau die richtige Größe, der Rand eine nützliche Höhe. Egal ob zum Abtropfen von Trauben oder Rosenkohl, ich möchte es nicht mehr missen!

Das Sieb ist sehr stabil und gut verarbeitet, bis auf den Boden. Der fällt sehr dünn aus. Deswegen gibt es nur 3 Sterne.Alles was im Rand und im Griff an Material vorhanden ist, scheint im Boden gespart worden zu sein. Aber trotzdem erfüllt das Sieb seinen Zweck zuverlässig und ist ein unentbehrlicher Küchenhelfer geworden.

Good finish, with no rough edges; functionally satisfactory--I use it as a single-implement for finger-squeezing tamarind pulp and straining the juice; and it is hard to find a strainer that is flat bottomed and not perforated along the sides. But it is very light weight, hence the 4 stars.

Je ne l'utilise que depuis un mois, jusqu'à présent je suis très satisfaite, c'est un produit solide qui passe au lave-vaisselle, pratique pour faire égoutter les aliments au-dessus de l'évier.Par contre, j'aurais aimé trouver le même modèle en plus grand, par ex 22 ou 24 cm pour les quantités plus importantes.Sinon, pour moi, tout est OK, y compris l'emballage bien protégé comme d'habitude.
