Great for those who love to learn!
My son, age 8, loves to learn about new topics. He really likes the "magazine" feel of these books and the way that the information is presented. As his mom, I really like that he is enjoying reading and learning. Win-Win!

Great school time reading homework
I enjoy my Grandson's homework reading and this book along with other National Geographic books are great. He picks out weekly which one he would like to read out loud. He loves science and learning about the world so these books are perfect, they even have silly jokes. This one is about animals that are known to be killers but what we are learning is that is not necessarily the case but the nature of the world. I recommend all the NG books

Nice!
I got this for my 10-year-old daughter who is interested in all animals but especially the ones that are dangerous as long as they don't get too close to her! She loved this book. I have long disliked when publishers advertise other books inside books but with this one, I didn't mind all that much. My daughter saw the ad for the creepiest or craziest (or something like that) sea creatures one and asked for it as well. At only $4, I couldn't say no. I don't agree with the politics that National Geographic sometimes sneaks into their publications but these were pretty neutral and very informational. My daughter has read them over and over and loves to read me interesting facts from them.

Classroom book for sure!
The pictures are so detailed and bright. My students love sharing the facts that they read about in these series! I highly recommend for any classroom! You can't go wrong with this purchase

it's okay
My son will love it. Colorful pictures and plenty of animals plus little tidbits. Right up his alley. It's a very thin book, I didn't count the pages in it, just surprised when I saw it. I guess the photos comprise the $4. I don't mean to sound petty but, I was expecting something different. All in all, he'll love it.

Great for kids!
I bought several of this books for my children, they love them so much that they have now a big collection, and I love the fact that they actually read them and are learning a lot, they come with different reading levels for each child reading skills.

Compliments Lucy Calkins Writing
This is the book referenced in the Lucy Calkins third grade informational writing unit. It is a great example to use when teaching students about informational writing. For those not looking to teach with this book, the description of the animals in this book is fantastic.

Great series
My son loves the kids National Geographic books. Content and graphics are fantastic. Would definitely recommend for those young inquisitive minds. The only gripe I have is that the books are pricey when purchased alone, especially when the kid is always asking for different subjects. The school book clubs that sell them in packs are cheaper but many of these books just aren't available in pack format.

I got this for my five years old son but I didn’t give it to him yet. Maybe when he is six or more 🙂
