SIZE OF THE TINES WIDTH CAN BE BIG OR LITTLE
WELL, THIS RAKE WILL NOT TEAR UP BECAUSE THE TINES ARE TOO BIG TO FIT BETWEEN THE SHRUBS AND FLOWERS. I LOVE THE ABILITY TO CHANGE THE WIDTH SO I CAN RAKE BETWEEN SHRUBS. PUTTING A WIDE RAKE BETWEEN THE SHRUBS IS WHAT TEARS THEM UP SO FAST. NOW I WON'T HAVE TO WORRY HOW TO RAKE IN BETWEEN WITHOUT TEARING THE RAKE UP OR LOSING TINES UNTIL THERE ARE NONE.

Rake works very well in tight spaces
The adjustable rake is just as advertised. Easy to assembly. I used it rake flower beds and it works just fine. I really like how it is adjustable which allows you to reach into tight spaces. A great rake at a very reasonable price.

Sturdy
Works well for my intended use. Broke the last plastic rake and decided to upgrade. Happy with my choice

Light Dethatching or Rock Rake
BsBsBest 61 Inch Rake (18 Metal Tines 10-18" Expandable Head) - I have mostly rock in my yard. Debris like leaves and other plant matter gets stuck in between and on top. I tried this expandable rake on the rocks. It works nice for raking up piles of rocks and getting at the debris in between. I'd imagine this would also be the type of rake to get up loose dead matter in a grass yard, light dethatching. It does accumulate fresh fallen leaves in between the times quickly. The only issue I've had is the sections coming undone while in use. Mainly the top section. The rake came in three screw together sections. It was a pain to have it come undone unexpectedly and have to repeatedly screw back together. Not sure how I could have prevented that. The rake is lightweight, and the expansion was simple to set.

great for garden work
The 18 metal tines provide excellent coverage and durability, making quick work of even the largest leaf piles. The expandable head feature is a game-changer, allowing me to adjust the width based on the task at hand. Plus, the 61-inch handle offers comfortable and efficient use without straining my back. It's become my go-to tool for yard maintenance. Highly recommend for anyone tackling fall clean-up or regular leaf removal

Way better then local store bought rakes. Seriously, heavy duty.
For reference I ordered the 61" tall one, and I am 5'8" and that I felt was a good length for me. Rake came in well packed with each individual item wrapped in it's own bag, and double boxed for protection. Detailed instructions are also provided, but the putting the rake together is pretty straight forward. Instead of having two thin poles extending, this is instead screwed into each other, metal to metal, not some cheap plastic insert with threads that will just snap off in the future, but actual thick metal poles. Everything about this rake is rugged, even the durable thick plastic clasp at the bottom that holds the rake tine positions. If you feel the rake will loosen overtime or unscrew you can always get a sheet of regular printer paper, cut to size, and wrap the thread, with just one wrap and not overlap and then screw together. Remember, only if it gets loose. I don't suggest duct tape dueto its thickness. For added durability one can then add duct tape over if needed for reassurance. For now nothing seems like it will unscrew.Because, the rake comes in 4 parts, I can remove a pole or two for the kids when I need their help. With 18" wide tine spread it is perfect for them and their little legs to get around with.My only caveat is that I wish the rake tines would spread further than 18 inches wide, to instead about 24 inches wide. I just want to rake less, and be in the house asap. Very minor quibble. In the past for a bit more, I had purchased a similar rake locally and after a season or two, the metal shaft bend into two, which was seriously frustrating. At the time all the local stores sold the same kind of portable extending rake so no alternative was available. Hence, the reason for making the comparison with this one.In no way would I hesitate getting this rake. I used to have multiple properties in the past and would take portable tools like this for landscaping at each place and this is much more heavy duty then the locally available ones.

handle threads not deep enough
I purchased because the tines fold but three section handle pulls apart under a load of dry leaves.
