Kanebo Sensai Chief - Make-Up Removing Sponge

This product is perfect for travel or home, especially if you use a lotion cleanser.

I have had this for a few months, and felt inspired to finally write a review. First of all, it really isn't a sponge, it is more a large thin wash cloth. However, it truly does not drip and is so easy to hand wash and then dry over your faucet at night. I was talking about it to a few friends about it recently, and they said I sounded like an infomercial. But what I like is this. Prior to getting it, I was not particularly diligent about washing my face at night. I hated knowing this was not good for my skin and how aging sleeping in make up can be for your face. My old method of splashing water on my face after using my favorite face wash, or using a regular wash cloth each night was not ideal for me. Frankly I would get my pajamas all wet - or I had to always wash my wash cloths daily in the washing machine so they wouldn't smell. I had looked into disposable cloth make up removers and found this product and figured I would give it a try. What I love best is I can still use my favorite face wash. And when I use the sponge chief (why they call it that I don't know) I SEE all the makeup my face wash has loosened. When I use my toner with a cotton ball, the cotton ball is actually CLEAN and not covered with makeup the water or wash cloth didn't get off. And washing the sponge/cloth is kind of fun too - it just gets CLEAN easily. Of course it depends on your make up - one of my mascara's tends to stain more than another. I use a little hand soap and wash it quickly and easily in the sink with warm/hot water after I have washed my face. I hang it over the faucet and it dries to a stiff odd shape (exactly as you hung it - and it NEVER smells (try THAT with a regular wash cloth!). I think my skin looks better then before using it, and it actually truly feels clean now for bed! One side is a little bit rougher than the other - but both sides seem very gentle - I think less abrasive or equal to a wash cloth. It does seem a little expensive - but if it lasts a year as other reviewers have said (and doesn't have to look perfect, as long as it gets clean!) it seems more than worth it. I want to buy some for friends now and my daughter as well.

I have been using this song for two weeks now and it is amazing. I no longer have a puddle of water around my sink when I wash my face, and this sponge is able to remove all of my makeup (and mascara, although that takes more wipes with the sponge than my foundation). The makeup doesn't stain the sponge, not even my mascara! My mascara has stained many a towel, so the non-staining is really fantastic. When it dries,it gets hard, but softens easily once water hits it.It's also made my skin clearer, which was an unexpected, but pleasant, result. I'm excited to see if my skin continues to improve with use. I'm not sure how long it is supposed to last, but I definitely plan to re-purchase.

It is the perfect sponge, in my opinion. It cleans the face completely in a very gentle way. After used it, the skin is totally clean and remain soft. It is perfect for all type of skin, in particular for mixed skin (where you have some parts dry and some parts of oily skin. Furthermore it is very easy to clean (only with water + soap after used it). My advice: do not try to wash in the washing machine.My cleaning routine: I massage my face with a cleansing oil without rinsing and then remove it with the sponge chief.Perfect!!!

This is the only type of cloth I have used on my face for years. Delivery was as advised.

This is the best makeup remover cloth ever! Much softer on the face than a washcloth. Used this 20 years ago in Europe, now finally available here. The only thing to know is you must wash it out and hang to dry or it will pick up a musty odor. Also when it dries it gets crispy- just wet it again and it will soften right up.

Great way to save money by replacing those costly disposable makeup removing cloths with this reusable sponge.This guy has such an interesting texture, soft and spongey yet adequately exfoliating when wet. After use you can hang it to dry after which it dries to a hard cardboard like form, inhibiting the growth of bacteria and that stink that comes with wet sponges.To use I first wet and massage cleansing soap/oil/cream/ect into skin, wet sponge chief and with a few swipes remove makeup/residue.The sponge will look dirty after use as it is absorbing that makeup, but can be easily cleaned with some warm water and soap.

I have been using the Kanebo Sensei Chief "sponge" for years. It is more a cloth which stiffen when dry,but, returns to it's soft texture when wet. It is durable and lasts for a long time.
