Jones Country released in 1983 was a fine album but has the strange distinction of having the single Radio Lover released six years later. At the time of the album's release George's record company were just about to issue the smash hit duet with Ray Charles We Didn't See A Thing from Ray Charles Friendship album. This could have been the reason for no initial single releases from Jones Country . The album s name was taken from an outdoor music park operated and owned by George in Texas near his birthplace between the years 1983 and 1988. You ve Still Got A Place In My Heart was released in 1984, the title track reaching No. 3 in the singles chart. Both albums produced by Billy Sherrill.

Two great but often overlooked eighties albums
Two great but often overlooked eighties albumsConsecutive releases from 1983 and 1984, the success of these albums was hampered by duet albums released at around the same time. Friendship (Ray Charles) featured a duet with George (We didn't see a thing) that was very successful, but prevented any single release from Jones country, the first album here. Radio lover, which might have been the single, was re-issued on another album six years later and released as a single to promote that album. The title track from the second album. You've still got a place in my heart, was a top 3 country hit, but was followed up the singles charts by She's my rock, a solo track from George's own duets album, Ladies choice. The remainder of this twofer includes covers of two of John Anderson's early country hits (Your lying blue eyes, The girl at the end of the bar) as well as covers of Burning bridges and Come sundown, along with several less familiar songs.Excellent.

The King is gone
Two great albums from what a lot of people are saying he was one of the greatest recording artist ever. When you having been buying George's records for 50 years, I knew that anyway. If you have never bought or listenedto a George Jones album just get one and you will very quickly as Brad Paisley said at George's funeral findout what all the ruckas is about.

Full of Emotion.
Great album! Two for the price of one on this one CD.George puts a lot of feeling and emotion into his singing because he lived much of it.

Ol' George !
Excellent CD, both Albums are Ol' George at his best in the early 80's. He had, without doubt, the greatest ever Country VOICE !
