My husband and I kept on smelling a gas smell while cooking and was getting. We use this detector, which is very easy to use to detect. There was a leak in our line. Great value for your money and also a lifesaver !

This is a great natural gas leak detector. It helped me track down a pipe leak in my mechanical room. With the strength/level indicator I was able to narrow it down to the exact coupling that was leaking using this tool. The only downside is the slow startup and fresh air requirement. This detector must calibrate in a fresh air environment (no natural gas present) for a minute or two prior to it being ready for use. That said, it's very accurate, so probably worth the startup time.

Essential for installing gas appliances repairing lines and checking for leaks, also can find propane, Freon and other gases. Any oxygen depleting gas will set off the alarm. Everyone who works with gas lines should have one. Great for home inspections too.

Okay, that sounds too personal. But it's true! I do have natural gas. Wait, that sounds just as personal. What I mean is, this gas detector is easy to use, easy to test, and works well.

I bought this because my parents removed their electric stovetop and had burners put in. Well they always make fun of me for smelling things that aren’t there (they ARE there - I just have a sensitive nose and pick up on things that most others don’t) - and I smelled gas! My dad didn’t and thought I was crazy. Then a day or two later, my mom thought she smelled gas. Dad still didn’t so if dad doesn’t think it’s happening then it’s not happening lmao. My dad did the “bubble test” which yielded a negative result - meaning he felt there was no gas leak. For those that don’t know - the bubble test is when you put dish soap and water in a spray bottle and spray it all over the tubes and pipes and look for soap bubbles - this will show you where air or gas is leaking out. We found out later - the leak was behind the cabinets and inside the wall - that’s why we didn’t see bubbles on the tubing that was visible.I knew I smelled gas, dang it. I bought this gas detector. After putting in the batteries - I tested it where there was no gas and sure enough - I got no response. Then I turned on the gas on the burner (but didn’t light it) and the alarm went off when I held this there. I left it out for my dad. He opened the cabinet beneath the burners (where I smelled gas, initially) and used this inside there and bingo - freaking gas! The alarm sounded loud and clear! This prompted him to repair what the plumber messed up (yeah I didn’t know plumbers handled things like that either) and this tool told us the gas leak was done. I haven’t smelled gas, since.I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS - it really works and gives peace of mind!

This is fantastic. Very simple to use. I'm not sure on the battery life yet, but I wouldn't worry about that too much. The readability is quick. Definitely something to have in the home.

I did exactly as it suggests with the test first and to turn it on in another room. It worked great so far. It's not super sensitive, so if you have a gas leak, it will tell you. It looks nifty. It seems to be accurate. The battery last a while. Use good batteries.

The media could not be loaded.  Work great with natural gas and propane and refrigerant gas 1018 and 404 and 3337. Easy to use light weight and cheap

Dit is echt iets wat ik al jaren mis. Altijd maar met sop aan de gang om te kijken of er gas lek ergens zit.Nu is het pen aan en meten maar. Werkt op verschillende gassen. Erg blij mee. Aanrader voor alle klussers.

Great little product! So easy to use and is extremely efficient! Detects gas after first 30 seconds of calibration. It is extremely sensitive. I feel a lot safer knowing I have this gas detector to hand. It was a good price and delivered next day. I would greatly recommend that everyone has one of these in their tool box.
