PetSafe, Digital Two Meal Automatic Pet Feeder, Blue 2 x 200 g trays, 4 day programming

Works well to open either food container after set delay (full number of hours from when you set it). Each side can be programmed separately, so good enough for 2 meals. Makes an audible ‘click’ on release - which is good, because my dogs recognise it. The food containers are relatively small - though plenty big enough for a dry food meal (single side for a small dog, both sides for larger dog - I guess). The dogs can smell the food inside, but we have never had problems with the outer casing being tested (it is hard, smooth plastic with no real vulnerabilities - even to inquisitive terriers). One of the inner trays (removable for washing) has been chewed a bit on one corner but not affected. The one shortfall (in my view) is that the battery compartment doesn’t have a screw to hold its lid on, which would have been an easy safety feature to incorporate (as one would for human children!) - but ours have never been turned over yet. The only other real vulnerability is that the release mechanisms can become stuck if (heaven forbid) a little boy dog chooses to wee on them too many times. But they are relatively easy to clean if you are comfortable taking the unit to bits (4 screws underneath) as they are simply slotted in and can be removed and disassembled for cleaning (with a cotton bud and WD40, in my case!) in order to free up the moving parts that open the sprung loaded doors. That aside, provided your dog is less horrid than ours, they should serve very well indeed! Sufficiently impressed that I bought a second unit (having discovered it was better to feed the two pups slightly apart if both were to get a fair share…..)

Because my cat,Daisy, managed to open the last cat feeder by digging at the rotating dials until they opened the flaps, I needed one that was more contained.I chose the Pet Safe Digital because it looked more cat proof. Horribly expensive for what it is, though!However, Daisy has not been able to open this one (so far!!). The photo shows her look of disgust!! She can open the flap where the controls are so I might need to tape that down as it doesn’t have a catch. Not sure if she could mess with the controls. She has medication in with her food so it needs to be given at set times.Simple to set. Instructions clear. You can only set by hours, not minutes. Seems accurate. Four AA batteries seems rather excessive though. Last cat feeder needed just one!Easy to clean the trays. As long as it feeds Daisy when needed, and she can’t find a way in, I’m happy with my purchase!!

It’s nice to have a mechanism that opens reliably - the digital timer is definitely more reliable. However, the unit is very flimsy and the wires that connect the timer to the doors are all exposed under the trays. If you have cats who are playful and likely to try to pull the trays out this is not the product for you. Due to the fact it’s cheaply made, I think it’s very over priced for what it is.

This works so well for our cat. Previously used automatic feeders with dials but this digital feeder is so much more reliable and accurate. Would highly recommend it.

I have tried a few automatic feeders and were disappointed with the timers not being accurate. Went for a digital one and paid a bit more money. Definitely worth it. Product is great and my cat loves it. Well made. Digital clock very easy to use and on time.

This item is a life saver for us. We have two sphynx cats and previous timer feeders were clawed open within minutes of setting. With this, the lids lie flat and are very secure so there is no chance of them being opened. The digital display is easy to set and the pots are easy to remove to clean.

I ordered 2 of these and despite setting them at the same time, they never go off at the same time! Sometimes there is a delay of nearly 5 minutes, which means the cats start fighting over the food. For the price I expected them to be accurate. Wish I'd invested a bit more money to have accurate timing with a clock rather than a countdown, but I needed them quickly.**EDIT** after about 2 months one of them has stopped opening completely, either b y the timer or by holding down the main button. I had to pull the lid off completely to get it open today, I do not recommend these at all.

Sieht nicht nur gut aus, sondern funktioniert sogar. Der Preis hat überzeugt. Haben den Futterautomat seit März in Gebrauch und wird vom Kater gut angenommen. Zwar nur für Trockenfutter, aber wenn man mal abends etwas länger unterwegs ist, eine feine Sache. Die Timereinstellung von 12 Stunden ist ok. Im Handel sind die Dinger überteuert meiner Meinung. Kauf kann ich empfehlen.

Petsafe, I hope you see this review! This is a great feeder, however, needs to be made for big dogs (more food quantity)! I personally only use it for a single feeding due to the portion cups being so small. I have to split the one portion into two and set the timer to go off at the same time. I feed twice a day with two full cups each portion. Stinks, I have to split them because it's so close to fitting the full two in, but as stated in your directions overfilling is problematic, preventing the doors from opening. Also, more needs to be done to waterproof the digital setting area and also on your dial type feeders. These are simple design issues that can certainly be corrected. Dogs slobber, and drool. Dry food becomes greasy when wet, and not really being able to wash the outside of this machine is problematic. As for the feeding cups themselves, no issue. But my dogs tongue is pretty near the width of your dish! Come on Petsafe, I rely on your quality product and have for awhile. My first one lasted my dogs term. So far now with my 4yo I'm on my second dish going from dial to digital!

Io la uso per i miei 2 coniglietti, per lasciargli un pò di verdure fresche quando non riesco ad essere presente per una giornata intera. I conigli non riescono a scassinarla e l'apertura per ora non ha mai fallito. Il rumore che fa quando scatta l'apertura all'inizio li spaventa un pò ma poi essendoci del cibo si riavvicinano e mangiano senza problemi. Da notare che per sicurezza l'apertura scatta per 3 volte a distanza di qualche secondo. Il timer si imposta molto facilmente e separatamente (unità minima impostabile 1 ora). Per un cane grande secondo me le ciotole sono un pò piccole, io che le rimpinzo di verdure fresche le trovo piccole, le avrei preferite più grandi. Da notare che l'ho acquistata a poco più di 30€ in warehouse deals e per questo prezzo è ottima, non avrei speso di più, mi sembra già tanto per questo tipo di oggetti.
