Excuse Me, Waiter?! There’s a Bunny in my Carrot! XD
It’s so adorable! I love my bunny! I love the carrot with its curly leaves. It’s all so cute! The big issue is that it didn’t have enough white to finish the project, though it had tons of leftovers for the other yarn colors! It wasn’t hard, but then again this is the twelfth crochet set I’ve finished :) It took me about a day and a half, but I was interrupted a lot.Stitches Used in the Project/ Difficulty:BLO (back loop only)*Chain StitchFLO (front loop only)*Magic RingSingle CrochetSingle Crochet DecreaseSingle Crochet IncreaseSkip (sk)Slip StitchSo this seems to be a pretty basic set of instructions and BLO and FLO are the only kind of rare ones, but are really well explained in the paper instructions and video. It is a longer project with lots of stitches, but it’s really neat how the bunny fits in the carrot…and you can make the bunny so that she can have different clothes! Who wouldn’t want this?! …so I would recommend it for a first-timer with the caveat that it’s kind of long, but the stitches are really basic. I’ve only seen one set with less stitches (the mushroom one).>>Tip: There is a typo in the Skirt instructions on round 1. I think the “al st” should really be “sl st” (especially since “a” and “s” are next to each other on the keyboard). At first I wondered if it was a new stitch I didn’t know, but it worked for me as a “sl st” and that’s what it looked like the video person did (the typo was in the video, too).Instructions:Paper: are great! The diagrams are done well and easy to understand. They describe how to start and the stitches. I like the tips, too :) There are typos and grammatical errors but the tone is friendly. I like the use of color and boldface to make things easier to understand. I was unsure about if I connected the legs correctly, but I trusted what I read in the instructions and they came out fine :)>>Tips:*Rnd 33 of the carrot, the one they want you to crochet the leaves on? It’s the one that looks like a line that makes a circle near the top (the one where you had to do BLO). You’ll see it. Now you don’t have to count the rounds! They made it so it was visible and easy, but didn’t mention it in the instructions for the leaves.Video: No commercials! Yay! No voice/speaking, only row and stitches on screen. There is cheery? repetitive music, though? They don’t show you every single stitch of the whole project. But I needed help on Round 24 of the carrot because I didn’t quite understand the notation and it was there for me :)Materials:I ran out of white yarn. I did do a couple extra rows and left yarn tails on almost everything because I sewed everything together. The set expects you to glue everything together so they wouldn’t need as much, but given how much yarn was left over for the orange and green (see photos for the amount of yarn left over), I thought I’d be good. I didn’t have enough yarn for two arms and the hem of the bunny’s skirt. Luckily, I had the exact same yarn leftover from a whale project. I don’t think my stitches are on the big side (in fact, they seem to be one the small side) so this is disappointing. I had to take a star off for that because lots of beginners crochet big stitches. The pouch is nice! It kept everything together and made it easier to take my project with me (and I do take my project with me a lot!). The orange yarn is softer than most sets and doesn’t split much at all (twice for the whole carrot). The white yarn split more. The green yarn didn’t. The 3.0mm hook is nice (it’s pink!) and didn’t give me cramps. The tapestry needle is plastic and works better stuffing the legs with fiber fill than it does going through the bunny. I used a metal one from another set. The stitch markers stay closed and work fine. I didn’t use the snippers or the glue stick. What I Did Different:The ears didn’t look long enough to me so I added 2 more rounds:Rnd6-7 6sc, sl st. Added another two rounds to body after row six (the same stitches as 5-6) and then did the stitches for round seven. I embroidered the insides of the ears with the pink thread. I ran out of white thread, so I used pink thread for the bottom of the skirt. I didn’t like the blush so my bunny doesn’t have one. I added two rows of 7-8 sc (depends on the placement of your bunny’s arms) to the middle top of the skirt to make it a dress (that you can take off! So I can make different outfits for my bunny!). Then I added 8ch to the end of one of those rows and attached it to the mid back of the skirt and then another 8ch to the other edge of the additional rows on the front. I sewed everything together instead of using glue. I threaded orange yarn in the edges of the carrot opening for a smoother edge.In conclusion, it’s a great set, except for the yarn (You might want to purchase white yarn for a 3.0mm needle for this set). The design is really cute! I love how to bunny fits in the carrot. I love my bunny and I love that I can change out the clothes (with my modifications listed above). I guess it’s kind of strange the bunny doesn’t have a tail though. Maybe a bobble stitch would work?P.S. Wouldn’t it be neat to put a zipper on the carrot’s opening and a carabiner on top? Then Bunny could go where ever you go! XD

Perfect for the beginner in your life.
My daughter has been knitting for over a year and she very much loves cows, so I figured I'd get her this project to see if crocheting may be in her future. This kit comes in a very nice zipper carrying bag which makes it perfect for the littles who may be taking this project on. The yarn is small, but there is plenty of it. The package has all of the items you need to complete this project except for one. Although the package comes with 2 hot glue sticks, it obviously doesn't come with the hot glue gun, so you'll need one of those. The colors of this project kit are nice and the pieces are all easy to use. The provided instructions will walk the beginner through all of the steps, but we did notice that a couple of times it appears not to call out how to finish a section. My wife was able to show our daughter how, so it wasn't really a draw back. Once you have the crocheting complete, then comes the assembly for the flowers, which add a new dimension to this project over some others.I have chosen to rate this product 5 stars. Overall our daughter enjoyed picking up the new skill and this was very easy for a beginner to get started with. The instructions were straight forward and the yarn and tools worked just as expected. I would definitely recommend this project for any beginner.Criteria for Stars:1 - Total rip off, doesn't perform basic advertised functions or not product advertised. I would likely RETURN and would NEVER recommend.2 - Not worth the money. Performs some of the basic advertised functions, but likely not all, and ultimately was deemed as not providing enough value for the money spent. I would not buy again, and would likely not recommend unless the buyer had a very specific use case.3 - It performs the basic functions as advertised, and has some usefulness at the price point, but doesn't work for all of the reasons I purchased. I would likely not buy again, and would only recommend if buyer understood usefulness limitations.4 - It performs most all of the features I purchased it for, but has limitations. I would likely buy again and would recommend.5 - Completely as advertised and likely exceeded expectations. Is if high quality and well shipped. I would totally buy again and recommend.

Everything is included
This crochet kit came in a zippered pouch and everything you need to complete the project is included, even scissors and stitch markers. There's a QR code that links you directly to instructional videos. The only thing I was disappointed with was that there were no vocal instructions in the video. I find the videos easier to follow with vocals. However, the written instructions are pretty clear so it shouldn't be too hard for a beginner to complete.

Cow with balloons
I hesitated on ordering this kit. It didn’t make sense to me at first. Why does a cow have balloons? It still doesn’t make sense and that is why I had to have it. The whole design is ridiculously cute. It does have several different colors and techniques needed to complete the project. I definitely agree with their difficulty rating of four. Not for an absolute beginner, but several projects in and it can be done. Cute final product with plenty of yarn to complete. Reusable zipper bag for the project is a nice touch. Definitely keep the bag and use for future projects that do not come with one.
