Dish Network 6.4 DVR PVR Remote Control

This remote control works as described but because of condition will be used as backup.

My 6.0 remote for my #2 TV was working intermittently. I don't really understand what the 6.0 refers to -- is it a frequency? Is it a model #? Is it both? But, in any case, I found that the 6.0 remote was replaced by the 6.4 remote (per the product page on Amazon). Bottom line: the new 6.4 remote works perfectly for our #2 TV, once I got it synched to our Dish receiver. Our old 6.0 remote also works, but must be closer to the Dish DVR unit in order for it to work consistently.One caveat: the instructions that come with the remote (to pair it up with your Dish DVR) are close to non-existent, but they are still very, very important. The instructions for programming the remote in our Dish User's Guide DID NOT WORK. The one instruction that comes with the new remote says to "Press the record button on the remote". Then, "program the Recover(?) button as instructed in your User's Guide".OK. These instructions are very cryptic. BUT the user guide does not mention anything about having to first press the Record button. So, I tried first pressing the record button on the remote (as instructed on the slip of paper that came with it), then followed the instructions in the Dish User's Guide. This procedure worked. Bottom line: you must first press the Record Button on the remote in order to program your remote to synch up with your Dish receiver. Odd, but true. (Note that this will actually start recording from the TV, and you will have to go back and delete the recording.)

This remote is identical to the previous remotes I’ve received from DISH NETWORK. It works perfectly & was easy to program. If the buttons continue to work longer than 2 weeks then this remote surpasses my last one I had purchased from DISH NETWORK & I would rate this product 5 stars.

The Dish Network 6.4 Remote was easy to set up and is working fine. The first remote lasted years, but the last two failed early. Not fun when the buttons become unresponsive. Wish me luck. Thanks.The new remote is working fine. The previous remote has multiple unresponsive buttons. The instructions are a bit sketchy, but I've been there before. The shipping envelope was cut damaged in transit and delayed while the USPS added more packaging. The battery cover sustained some scratching. The shipping was just unlucky and along with it was no tracking beyond the label creation. Bad start will mean the remote will last longer? Only 4 stars. not a durable remote.Update. On 3-27-22 I bought my 5th Remote since 2016. Online I also bought a P1repair repair kit to see if the last remote could be fixed. The repair kit worked, so the new remote will be back-up. This remote is a quality remote and can last a long time. Now I will see how long the repair lasts.Thanks, DMWorrel

The Dish IR remote was delivered very timely from Jim’s Better Deals. The included setup instructions were very easy to use; the time for battery installation and programming was less than 15 minutes. Thank you, Jim!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

My original dish network remote had begun to have issues with some of it's buttons wearing out. This replacement remote is the original's near twin, without a decade plus of wear and tear. The included print instructions enabled me to synch the remote to my dish network receiver within a minute or two. Using my receiver instruction manual, I was able to program this remote to control my television as well. The remote works very well. Lastly, after making the order, it arrived promptly the next day via Amazon Prime.

The newer models Dish makes are rectangular, so you can't easily tell by feel where your hand is. You end up constantly looking at the remote. With these older, tapered remotes, you end up never having to look, even if you are a heavy user like me. The remote I ordered was a new, old-stock replacement. It arrived with instructions to program it to work with my Dish box. Easy to get working well, and it's been in heavy use ever since.

This remote was a used item. Yet it looks like new and works great. Low price. Can't believe it ---I ordered it Sunday evening it was in my mail box at 11:55 a.m. the next morning (Monday) . Prime works for me ! ! ! ! 5 StarsKeep it up
