Dish Network 5.0/5.3/5.4 IR Infrared DVR TV1 Remote Control

Programming was a pain but it works. I wish all the tabs were included (see that green tab? google the remote - they refer to whether it is a IR or UHF or IR/UHF remote - I would have been better off with a IR/UHF this is an IR, green tab #1).Under "system info" (menu button) you can find your remote "code", which is what you program the Sat button with. There is a way to reset it if you have absolutely no remote by resetting the DVR and turning it back on. This was hard for me to figure out (fyi, ours was "9"). Once you know what your code is, hold the SAT button down until all the buttons blink, enter the code, and press pound. Easy peezy.

The remote works as it should once programmed. The English instructions are poorly written! None of the TV codes provided for my TV worked and I was forced to program the remote via the code search method; the poorly written instructions made it a frustrating experience. Anyways, final assessment - works great and would buy again!

I purchased this remote to replace the original that came with the receiver.This remote was the exact replacement for the original,just slightly updated.It was easy to program to my components,and has worked flawlessly so far.The price is more than fair considering how much use these get. Would highly recommend going this route to replacing the original that just wears out over time.

This item was not the same remote as what was shown in the picture. I was under the impression that it would be just like this picture you see here - the silver back round with green or blue at the bottom - just the remote that came with my Dish setup. But that is not what I received. I received a black remote with different buttons in different places. It is "universal" in the sense that you can change the bottom piece from green to blue or vice versa. But it is difficult to change those pieces. They don't just snap off and on. But after we FINALLY got the bottom piece changed to the right color and could get the set up right - it's fine. Working great so far.

The old remote was so worn nothing could be read on it, and started not working even with new batteries. It was probably 10 years old. Got this one, looked up my TV's codes by brand in the TV handbook(also available online), the first of four codes worked. Done. Works like a charm!

I was very hopeful at first when I received this product. It appeared to work fine when it was programmed to the tv. But that did not last long. Only had it a few days and numbers stopped working. You couldn't fast forward or pause. I reprogrammed it several times and the issues still persisted.I don't know if it was a bad remote or if it was a bad product. I was not happy with it at all.

I ordered this remote because our remote's buttons started to stick, and it was worn and past time for a replacement. The price for this remote was around $15 dollars including shipping and taxes. That's a steal. The setup was easy for the satellite. I had to research online, and find the remote code for our Samsung TV. Once we got it, programing was just as easy for the TV.Great price and fast shipping. Thanks Amazon.
