Mobility Aids Tool Help Seniors Get Up from Floor/Ground, Adjustable Standing...

I’m a big guy….350 lbs. And now that I’m older, it’s a lot of wear and tear on my knees when I stand up after being on my hands and knees on the floor. Because I have an elderly, incontinent dog, I’m now on my hands and knees cleaning up accidents more than I would prefer, and this device has been helpful in that regard. Some people have complained that it’s too short, or too wobbly. I’m 6’2, and it’s the perfect height for me (I used all of the segments when I assembled it, so it’s at its maximum height.). Keep in mind its sole function is to aid you in standing up. It’s not a cane, so once you stand up, it no longer has any functionality. Regarding being wobbly, it is dealing with a lot of force when someone my size puts all their weight into it, so some amount of wiggle should be expected. However, if you’ve positioned your weight directly above the handle when you go to stand up, the small amount of wiggle should not make you feel insecure when standing up. One note: if you are looking for something to help you stand up when sitting on the couch or sitting in a chair, this is probably too short to help you. I think this is just to get you off the ground. I ended up buying a second one, to have at the other end of my house for convenience. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed with this if your goal is to get some help standing up from being on your knees.

We do a lot of projects on our knees and the latest is hours of putting in a new deck. With older knees, that much time down makes it hard to get up with nothing nearby for balance. We tried a garden kneepad stand, but the bare metal on the bottom was slippery and dangerous on this type of surface, so we thought we would try this. It's perfect for our use - lightweight, portable, nonslip, and sturdy enough to support our weight. We just move it down the joists with the rest of our tools and kneepads. We started with all of the height sections in place but them removed one because it felt much better for us. That adjustability feature is great, and assembly and changes could not be simpler (we used a full-sized screwdriver for the final turns to assure a tight fit). This is not a lift or miracle cure - you still have to have some upper body strength to push yourself up, but it solves the balance and support issues that come with weak or tired legs without having to bend over head down and push off the floor or ground.

As long as you don't have issues with your hands or wrists, it works well. I did feel it in the rest where I had previous issues. But I was able to use it multiple times. Very easy to put together.

I have had bad knees for years now and just getting worse all the time. Once I am on the floor there is no way I can get up unless a solid chair or something is around so I can pull myself up. Anytime I know doing something needs me on the floor I bring my old wooden paper towel holder with me. I use that as leverage for my getting up. However the top is just a small round wood to put paper towels in, so it is not very comfortable for my hand giving I have to use my strength on it to get up. This is amazing and perfect for me. So much easier. I did decide to put the pieces together and check the height before I put the screws in. Glad I did so as I thought the higher would be better but it wasn't. I am 5'2" and used only two pieces for the height. I tried higher and actually it was a lot harder to get up as when I get up I need to put all my strength from my arm and use my toes on my right foot and push myself up with my right arm. You have to hold it straight down as you do this and it will not tip over. I guess that is the only way I can explain it as I have had plenty of experience with my paper towel holder which is 12" high. I put my tool at 13" and it is perfect. I am 78 years old and getting down on the floor is not an option. Often I need to do it for one reason or another. Now I need to start doing weights for my arms to get stronger so I can continue being able to get off the floor. LOL I just love it, the handle is so nice!

This was horrible. The base of this was so small it was more of a hazard than trying to get up/hold your self. It was easy to put together but it was very poor quality. My husband husband (40 yrs old) tried using it and it was not able to keep balance. I think the bottom needs to be wider

Poor assembly directions. If you buy this and are fortunate enough to get it assembled properly go buy a lottery ticket because you're a winner. The people who make garbage like this must laugh all the way to the bank.

Okay let's talk about an honest conversation about being older. Just recently my husband and I were looking underneath the couch for something that he dropped and then we had to realize how difficult we were going to have when we were trying to get up. I ended up getting up first but it was very difficult had we had this little unit right at the beginning it would have made such a difference. It's functional it's very useful and for those of you like myself and my husband have a difficult time getting up from a kneeling position on the floor because you've dropped something or just trying to get something out the lower cabinet this is a great unit to have around so you put it in front of you before you even go down. You'll like it a lot and you won't be sitting there either embarrassed or laughing because you can't get up like the commercial says

This item is hard to work with must use screwdriver from your own tool boxs. To get the base stand off IT come with four small screw and four head and little screwdriver for those screw only go in the hole one side and head into the other side each part into one another build up about four foot standing up. .now see what it does is next
