Rocky Mountain Highway: Stories, Photos, and Other Memories of My Twenty-Five Years Traveling with John Denver

I was given this book as a birthday present. A lovely surprise as I was unaware of this publication. A very enjoyable read.

Rocky Mountain Highway is the greatest for John Denver fans. I find myself reading a chapter and tagging pages that have things I want to look up like a song or a video. It's just great and brings back memories or exposes you to things you never knew about John Denver but make you love him even more.

What a book! Full of stories that help us to remember a time in our lives when music and those who wrote and sang the songs were heard on the radio or in person. Behind the scenes there was always a ton of action and this book tells some of those stories. Plus the photos are fabulous. A real treasure for John Denver fans (and I was always one).

This is a well written and enjoyable book - highlighting many behind the scenes stories of life on the road with John Denver by his photographer. I really loved reading this book.

My parents always listened to John Denver when I was a kid, but I never really discovered him for myself until Covid and I happened upon one of his live videos. That got me hooked for good, but even in John's autobiography there's not many details about the early days and when things were really getting big for him, especially behind the scenes type stuff. Lowell's book is filled with these types of stories, adventures, and anecdotes, told from a very honest and lateral perspective and only from someone who could've experienced it first hand. Extremely well-written and captivating, and these completes a missing piece of the John Denver story for me. 10/10
